Lake Como, all inclusive & flying from Birmingham. Thought it was the best way for a first timer, not having to worry about meals etc

Hi Yaitch

Well done for taking the first step.  Enjoy the trip when it comes and do let us all know how you got on.

Kind regards

Jaya

Hi Jaya,

Thank you for your reassurance.

Preparations for my first trip are well underway. Looking forward to hearing from anyone else on the spirit of India trip on October 14th  now. I’m flying from Heathrow.

Dear Sylvia,

Thank you for writing this encouraging post. I have been dragging my feet about booking as I am so nervous about going for that fiorst holiday on my own. I am feeling physically sick as I type... but I know I need to get out and meet new people and carry on exploring the world despite now being on my own.

Thank you for being so honest and for sharing.

I wish you many more fabulous holidays...and maybe one day we will meet on one of those holidays.

Hi

Anyone going on the New York City Break -Departure date 27/03/20 from Heathrow? I am new, never travelled on my own before.  For the last 5 years  I am looking forward to this as always wanted to go to New York. It would be nice to meet fellow travellers.

Hello everyone

I am new to JY. Since 2012, I have mainly travelled with my daughter, and in particular we've had several lovely cruises together. She is now at university, and from July-December last year she was studying in Melbourne. I took a 7 night Greek Isles and Croatia cruise as a solo traveller, doing all the arrangements myself, and loved it. But this year I thought I'd try a holiday organised by a tour company instead, and liked the look of Just You over some of their competition. I've just booked to go to San Marino on the 5 day holiday in April and am very excited (and slightly nervous!) about it.

I was wondering whether it's possible to find out how many other people on the same holiday have booked for the meal on the last night? I don't want to book, and find out that there are very few of us (or just me!), nor do I want to ignore it and find I'm the only one not doing it!

Also, how many people are going on this holiday?

And is there anyone on this thread who is going?

Questions, questions...!

Thank you in advance. x

Hello all. What about printing out Boarding Passes and putting Passport Information on when I book. I am not good at this. Thanks. Gerry h

In 2012 I was in the same position as many of you, having lost my husband in February 2012.  I had never travelled alone, or even for that matter lived alone.  I found singles holiday companies through an internet search and booked my first holiday.

I was so scared a few days before departure that I almost asked my doctor to sign me off sick so that I did not have to go and claim on the insurance!  Sense prevailed because I really knew that she wouldn't do it.

You are really "on your own" until you get to the departure airport.  Unless of course you have someone to travel with you, or take you to the airport.  From there on you will have as much or as little company as you wish.

Fellow travellers are there for the same reason you are - it is somewhere they want to visit.  Whether it is for the sights, architecture, history, food, culture, you have that in common at check-in.

I am so glad that I didn't call off that first holiday to France which was in May,  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  The age range, which was from about mid 30's to 80 really didn't matter.  I have two holidays booked this year - one of them with JY.

In my limited experience tour managers have been fantastic.  The second hotel was far and away better than the first, but the first was good.

Organisation from departure airport - resort(s) - return airport is smooth.  Everything is done for you.

All you have to do is choose - read any reviews on the forum that you can find - book - pay - turn up - ENJOY!!

Sylvia
