Hello all,

Well after a subdued 44 years of life and being a singleton for most of it, i've decided 2014, well probably 2015 is the year that i start to do the things i've always wanted to, i've always been to shy to travel alone, and this has stopped me following my dream to travel the USA. I've read so many positive things on here and how shy people have ended up regretting not doing it earlier, let's hope that is me!!

Hopefully there will will be a Golden West tour in 2015 as i just have to go to see Alcatraz, The Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.

A warm welcome to you Mark

Let's hope you get to live the dream and go on a USA holiday with JY. I have not been on either of these tours but I have my 5th USA tour booked for 2014. these tours are Greta fun you get to see and do so much, they are on the go which is what I love you can catch up with sleep when you get back home. I am sure one of the men on here will reply in more detail from a mans point of view! Good Luck and GO for it! we only live once.

Hi Mark,

2 of my holidays with Just You have been "over the pond" - 1 to Canadian Rockies and Alaska (the Alaska bit isn't on the tour now), and to New England and Canada - both tours were excellent, so please go for it as you really won't regret it. Like everyone else, I felt rather nervous, but then you realize that almost everyone is in the same boat and you soon settle down and enjoy all the company. As Cindy says, life is too short so grab it with both hands and live!

Best wishes

Anne

Hiya Cindy,

Thank you for that welcome, very much appreciated.

Which other USA tours have you done? I'd love to do Route 66 but I imagine that would be more of an experience by car or bike and not coach.

Mark,

Nice to see you even if you are on your side...

My first tour in 2006 was Boston New England and New York. Loved it so much I am re tracing it this Autumn but it is now called Canada, New England with New York add on....I want to revisit ground zero and also to see Ellis Island and spend a bit more time in Central Park i.e. buggy ride etc.

It's not in the brochure now but I did the Memphis and Nashville music tour which I really enjoyed from the country and Western of the grand ole Opry to Elvis and Graceland???was well worth going in this tour also nice stop at Jack Daniels distillery.

East Coastliner tour which was excellent I have a great interest in the American civil war which was fed on this tour.

Last year I went on the 1st tour of Florida, this was a tour that some of the people on here (myself included) put our suggestions forward and Will from JY and the team made this tour HAPPEN...since I went this tour has now been tweaked and I can only imagine is even better than when I went.

I love the USA tours you get to see so much, yes it's quite fast paced and you can be living out of a suit case and some places you would like to spend more time at but value for money it has my vote.

Hope it gives you some ideas of what's out there, have a look in the review section on the boards and see what people have to say.

Hello again all,

Thanks for the replies.

Cindy...i think i'm the right way up now!!

I love the sound of the Memphis and Nashville tour, as i'm a big fan of country music, i guess my name says it all. Also the East Coastliner one sounds awesome as like you i have an interest in the American Civil War.

Hiya Mick,

I've been reading your blogspot page, some great info, pics and details on there, so thank you for that, much time and effort gone into doing that.

Hey Anne,

Yes, the nerves is a big thing for me, but you are right, everyone is in the same boat on here, lets hope as soon as the 2015 Golden West holiday is up, i get the courage to book it.

Once again, many thanks guys.

Well even though I'm not looking at going on my first solo holiday until 2015, I purchased a US Dollar travel money card and put $158 on it today, now if that isn't incentive for me to book one then I don't know what will be
