Hey Sandrablondbaby

If you read the previous posts you will see that the message is to do it, there seems to be a lot of first timers on JY holidays so you will not be the only one,I think each holiday has at least 20 people so you will have a lot of support with a mix of new comers and second and third timers. I would say do it.

Dave.

Sorry if this seems like a lecture.

Even though I have found that the discovery weekends are fully booked I have decided to take the plunge anyway and book myself a holiday abroad with Just You. I haven't decided where to go to yet and I am nervous of course about my first single holiday, but I figure it will be an experience whatever happens, so remember that you're not the only one who's a bit scared, but I'm sure it's worth doing!

Hi Sandra

You should go for it - the Discovery Weekends are great ! Everyone is new and that makes them even more eager to meet new people. I went one last November . There were 50 of us varying from 30's to 70's. We had great time. Since then I have been to Egypt on a Nile Cruise, and I am going to Oberammagau next month, and Las Vegas in September. I am a widower , I lost my wife 18 months ago - these holidays have been the best thing that has happened to me.

I am also on the last JustYou magazine.

hi all, I have been on a few JY holidays and the first thing you do id look around the airport to see a JY label swinging on someones suitcase whose owner is doing exactly the same, you smile at each other and start to relax as you have found a buddy, and bingo its the start of a brilliant holiday adventure with like minded people. I was quaking in my boots on my first holiday but it all melts away in minutes as you all meet up and feel safe in the knowledge you have a guide who is looking after you and you are never alone so in one way its starts off as 'just you' but ends up 'all of us' so dont be scared, worried or anxious look on it as a positive experience of a great adventure, I have booked Thailand on September 16th and cant wait.

regards

Sue (a young at heart 60 year old)

Hi Sandra,

I know you feel nervous and you say it is hard to go on holiday alone but think - how hard can it be to get on a coach or a plane? Take the plunge and have a great time. We have all had to do it at some time and never looked back! Go on, enjoy life - you know you deserve it. Good Luck.

Be happy, best wishes,

Lesley

Hi Jemma,

You say you will have to wait until next year for your holiday - I don't think so! Have you thought, it may be that Fate is telling you to risk going further afield? There are so many wonderful places you could go - so go and enjoy one of them. Who knows, it may be the first of many - as they say "the world is your oyster".

Good Luck.

Be happy, best wishes,

Lesley

Do you know which discovery weekend you would like to go on? I have decided to book the one in Nottingham on 13th August. As my previous post says I am very nervous but after all the encouraging words I have read I have decided to go for it. I wish you the best of luck wherever you decide to go!

Hi Jemma

I am new to just you but at 42 I have been on a few crusies and they are breathtaking the only thing with crusies you can not get off at sea so therefore you are stuck. I am going on the discovery weekend on the 13/8/2011 to Nottingham in my spare time I tend to draw building and the landscape then when I come home I paint in my studio.

Hi Lisa,

I did a discovery weekend in Leeds last November, and had already booked to do a Christmas break with them. Had a really good time on both occasions, and I'm now just waiting for my Halkidiki holiday in May, followed by the Canadian Rockies and Alaska Cruise in Sept! It took me some time to pluck up the courage to do this, but I'm so glad that I did - what better way to see new places and meet new people - as someone said to me, "You're going on holiday with friends you have yet to meet" and I think that's a great way to look at it!

Take care

Anne

Hello Everyone, I have just joined today.

I live in the High Peak in Derbyshire and I wondered if there were other members living close to here.

It is unfortunate that weekend breaks are getting full but I will get to join some of you soon.Teresa
