Based on my over 25 holidays with JY, I can highly recommend this relatively new holiday.
Excellent, one of my three most enjoyable JY holidays, An excellent family hotel, beautiful area, generally carefully selected excursions and an outstanding group director (Sara McDonald).
Hotel. A family-run hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Excellent, with some of the best food I have ever had in a holiday hotel. Perfectly cooked and well presented. Only hotel drawback; no air conditioning!
Group Director. One of the two best of the many I have come across, highly recommended. Very friendly, helpful, enthusiastic and informative (she was still able to inform us whilst diverting through Munich to avoid the airport motorway hold-up).
Excursions. I took all the excursions, including the optional ones. With one exception very well arranged and enjoyable. The one exception was day 4: the morning was good with the cable ride up to Wildkogel, but the afternoon at the Celtic Village was very disappointing. Well laid out, but really not much there and we left after just one hour. That meant that the whole afternoon took up just the one hour. Disappointing.
As all breakfasts and (excellent) evening meals were included, only money needed was for snacks'
The only badly arranged part of the holiday with a 3.5-hour journey to the hotel from Munich airport and 4 hours (motorway holdup) on the journey back to the airport at the holiday end.
A most enjoyable holiday with just a few minor points. Very highly recommended.
