Hi Steve

There are so many places to see and worth visiting.  Do you want to start off "small" and do a weeks tour to get a taste of it and see if its your thing/

Or go for the whole 2 week experience and go long haul and also where do you want to go?

I started off doing a week in Portugal, then Italy, really enjoyed them and bit the bullet to go further afield as well as more in Europe

I really enjoyed Vietnam and Cambodia add on and Branwyn was a brilliant tour manager, I loved Cambodia so much I went back the following year and it was combined with Laos  but no longer in the brochure.

If you want relaxing holiday with sightseeing St Lucia was lovely and my last 2 were Argentina, Chile and Brazil (fab) and Thailand

There is a lot on offer and its always been a lovely mix of people and ages and there is always someone to chat to or you can also enjoy your free time on your own if you wish.

Breakfasts and a lot of meals are included and its a great way to get to know your fellow travelling companions

My first trip I had reservations, I think we all do re whats ahead of us, but i have never looked back.

Good luck with whatever you choose x

Hi Steve

Welcome! I agree with PCC - your first choice much depends on the type of holiday you think you will enjoy (and also your budget). Some people prefer beach or single resort holidays and just like to relax with a good book. Others, like me, prefer to 'go places and learn stuff' but I appreciate that spending a lot of your holiday on a coach does not appeal to everyone because it can be quite full on. Exciting and fascinating, but not necessarily relaxing!

If you want something short haul and relaxing, have a look at the European holidays. (If you fancy 'a bit of both' I recommend the Pompeii and Bay of Naples tours). I've done quite a few of JYs long haul exploring holidays over the last 15 years. Sadly some of my favourites, like Ultimate Alaska, have not returned to the roster after the Pandemic, but I would definitely recommend the US National Parks Tour, the Canada/Rocky Mountaineer Tour, Icelandic Splendours, Inspirational China and Breathtaking New Zealand. I haven't personally done them, but friends have also recommended Jordan and Namibia.

Finally, remember that although you may technically be solo, you will be with a group of like minded travellers and a very experienced Tour Manager/Holiday Director who will take care of all of the logistics for you. My advice is to just think of them as 'friends you haven't met yet' and dive in!

Happy travels

Mandy

Hi Steve

you won't regret it that's for sure

I started with Italy the tour of Tuscany. Not too far from home and only a week.

just do it, you will have a great time with like minded travel enthusiasts!

Hi Steve,

I think many of us have been there.  I remember my first trip soon after I’d retired and wanted to visit places I’d never been to.  I liked the format but had the usual first time nerves.  So I booked for somewhere I’d always wanted to visit, in my case Pompeii, so at least I would have done that, however it turned out.  In the event it was a brilliant experience with a great group and I’ve never looked back, and I’m looking forward to my 12th JY holiday in May.

Hello Steve ,

I've just booked my very first Solo holiday .....it's taken a lot to make that first step . I've booked the Spanish Andalucian trip in April .....I've been to most of the places before so that helps ....& looking forward to revisiting them . The little hillside  town it's based in , Mijas ......is wonderful .

I'm very impressed with the Just You website .......it's clear , easy to follow & excellent tours available .

Good luck to you .

Hi Steve,  I have just booked my first trip with Just You to Andalusia 5th June.  Really looking forward to it.  I have heard great things about Just You from people I met on another solo trip with a different company.  Have you found anything you like yet?  So many to chose from....
