Hi,

I have been looking at the pre-bookable package of optional excursions for the Strasbourg to Budapest river cruise, departing on Sunday 23rd April. According to the JY website, and the brochure published in May 2016, there is a tour of Mainz available on Day 2 and the opportunity to "Discover Esztegerom's Highlights" on Day 11. However, neither of these optional excursions is listed in the Holiday Information Pack (dated 10th January). Could you please advise me as to whether these two optional excursions are / will be available, and if so whether they are actually included within the prebookable package, or are only available at extra cost, either in advance or on location?

Thanks in anticipation and I look forward to joining this holiday soon!

Good Afternoon Steve,

Apologies for the delayed response.

The ship stops at Mainz and Esztergom and the you have free time in each of the destinations it’s not an official excursions provided by the cruise company however the Tour manager will accompany you into the cities and show you around and then you can take free time.

So the tours are still included in the package.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Hello, Steve. I too am on this river cruise but according to my paperwork it starts on Monday 24 April, although I shall be leaving home on the 23rd. Perhaps this is the case with you too, unless you've mistaken the start date.

Thank you for the information on Mainz and Esztergom, Mildred. I suppose it is much too early to ask if a TM has been appointed yet?

Thanks for pointing that out Ann. I have a connecting flight booked from Manchester on the 23rd, and realised what I had done after hitting the "Post Reply" button! The official tour departure date is indeed the 24th and I recently did book the optional excursions package.

Cheers,

Steve
