Hi Elisa/Mildred

It's good to see that the itinerary for 2017 has moved the Mostar trip to mid week.  That makes for far more sense as I indicated in several posts. 

As a matter of interest, has any better feedback been received on the hotel, in concern to the dining situation and problems obtaining drinks at the bar?  I have been keeping a close eye on Trip Advisor, and there still seems to be problems generally. 

I am strongly considering going back next year, with a friend, as I love the area so much, but if the hotel is as it was customer service wise, in May, then I would be slightly reluctant, for the friend's sake, if not mine.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - we wanted to speak to various members of the team and they haven't all been about.

Following the May tours, all the feedback that we received was raised with the hotel. The complaints about the times the group ate were rectified and they confirmed that more staff would be available to serve drinks at busy times. We had a departure last week - the tour manager has commented that the staff (& their customer service) were one of the best things about the hotel.

Obviously we will still be waiting for all of the customer responses to come in from this recent departure as well, but it seems, for our groups at least, that the hotel has addressed the issues that we raised with them.

Thanks for this Julia.  I shall be interested to see if there are anymore reviews coming through from the later departures.  I am not totally convinced as reports on TA still reflect poor dining experience and the continued problems in the bar as far as getting drinks is concerned.  As these were the amongst the main issues raised originally it will be interesting to see if anybody has anything more to say.

And another query.  I see that Ston is now an optional excursion as well as Mostar? 

On the website the farewell meal in Dubrovnik (which incidentally I enjoyed), is still included on the Mostar listing, which now has been moved to the middle of the week.  Am I to assume that the farewell meal will now be on the last night after the optional Ston trip?  That would certainly make for a heck of a lot more sense, because, as I remember, we were back mid afternoon anyway.  🙂

Yes that’s correct the farewell meal is on day 7 after Ston.

Coming back to this issue again, as it is now the end of the season there.  We have had no further reviews, which is a shame.  However I have been keeping a close eye on Trip Advisor (and yes, I know that a lot of the comments on there are very picky).  However there are still consistent complaints about slow bar service, lack of staff, and poor dining room experience from many reviewers.  I certainly do hope that things have improved for JY guests, and that your feedback forms reflect this. 

I have noticed that another large hotel in Cavtat is due to re-open next year after extensive refurbishment, and wondered if JY are likely to move hotels sometime in the not too distant future?

I still want to go back, as the tour has many advantages, regional departures, excellent location, and a very good itinerary.  I can put up with the dining room (I have had a lot worse food on JY holidays), but I like to sit in a pleasant lounge at night and talk to my fellow guests, without waiting forever for a drink.  I guess if I do go back I shall have to boycott the bar! :s

Thank you Mildred.  I was getting concerned because the feedback on TA was consistently poor.  I hope that JY CAN remain in Cavtat as it is such a nice area.  Is this likely to happen next year do you know?

Hi Mildredi stayed at this hotel in May and found it chaotic albeit in a lovely location My friend was there this September and said it is exactly the same. Sorry! Orla

I would certainly consider this holiday if a better hotel was used. When is the decision on a change of hotel likely to be made?

I agree with Sarah.

Any information yet please Mildred? 

I have already sorted things domestically (which I have to do far in advance) to accommodate the May departure.   I do hope( for the sake of the people that have already booked), that we would get a firm response soon, and certainly before the December/January brochure comes out. 

I certainly won't book until it is confirmed one way or another what is happening with the hotel.

I do have an alternative holiday in mind, given that unfortunately I have to be so inflexible about dates, but I worry that if information doesn't come out soon that I will miss out on that one because it is such a popular trip.
