Hi Monty,

After all the other questions regarding the Mexico, Guatemala and Belize tour in recent times, it has now disappeared off the website!! Is this a computer glitch or has the tour been put on the dreaded "review" list? If so, is it likely to go ahead as I really need to know as soon as possible to look at alternatives.

Please reply as soon as you can so I (and the others booked) will know where we stand!!

Best wishes,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Don't worry we have just took it offline to have a think about the tour - nothing too serious. It is still likely to go ahead so please do not panic. If there are any changes, I will make sure you are kept up-to-date.

Kindest regards,

Monty

Many thanks Monty for the quick reply, so I guess it is "under review" then. Here's hoping a firm decision is made swiftly one way or the other!

Best wishes,

Bob

Rather strange comment from Monty that the tour was taken offline so that they could think about it, surely it could have been left online and thought about. And the starting price has gone up £300?

Hi Alan,

I've also replied on the Belize thread. I suppose they had to take it off the website to update the price! At least we won't have to pay any extra, although I do think it will affect the other departures later in the year. As always I will write a review when I get back and I am sure, given the teething problems regarding this tour, that JY will be pulling out all the stops to ensure that we have a great experience on this tour! I hope so...

Cheers,

Bob

Hi Bob

Don't hope but be positive and believe that you will have a great experience on this tour and I guarantee you will. There are still 3 months to go so plenty of time to iron out any remaining problems.

Hi Jaya,

I will be going on this tour with an open mind, as I always do and I haven't had a bad or disappointing tour with JY to date. I am sure this will be a great experience once the issues we have raised have been properly dealt with. However if I and the others hadn't queried certain aspects of the tour, then perhaps they might not have been picked up by the powers that be in JY - our concerns over the Banana Beach hotel, for example - so I think it is good that we have raised them. As you said, they still have three months left to sort everything out with the local agents. It has also been valuable to have had discussions with JY James and we have learnt more about the way tours are put together - I now understand the implications of the phrase "such as" when describing the hotels for the tour, so it has all been very helpful.

All the best,

Bob

Hi Bob

I absolutely agree with you and am really grateful to you and the others who have queried certain aspects of this holiday. I am just wondering whether the local agents, seeing how keen people are to go on this holiday, are the ones who are getting a bit greedy and raising the hotel prices themselves and changing the hotels perhaps to get more commission? Now I am being a bit cynical! Perhaps it is not possible for Just You to deal directly with the hotels in this part of the world as I would have thought that the travel companies would do this directly instead of using third party agents. But what do I know?! I am relying on your review.

Jaya
