Hi Monty, I had a few minutes to spare on my day off so I was googling some of the places I'll hopefully be seeing on the Mexico, Guatemala and Belize tour next February. I was horrified to see that very sadly there was a huge fire at the Iberostar Tucan Hotel at Playa del Carmen on Saturday, causing a lot of damage and seemingly the hotel is now closed. I know it's early days but could you let me know what alternative plan JY come up with for our stay there? I'm booked for the Playa del Carmen add-on so should be staying three nights there in total and the facilities at this lovely hotel were my main reason for booking the add-on so I'm very sad to see this.

That's correct. Unfortunately, there was a fire at the hotel, which has now closed and will re-open on December 11th. Our customer services here at JYHQ will be contacting you soon with an update and to reassure you that there is nothing to worry about as we have it under control.
