Weighing up which holiday I'm going to book for next year-too many to choose from, so I've narrowed it down and would like to know the usual numbers, age range and female:make ratio please! Could I also ask for the preliminary flight times too.

Borneo with Singapore add on 19/5/15

Ultimate Alaska-23/5/15 and 5/9/15

Untold Cambodia and Laos 6/9/15

A Wild Arctic summer 10/8/15

Sorry for quite a few, you've made the choices really hard

Thank you for your help

Many thanks

Hi Lucinda,

Borneo with Singapore add-on:

There are 14 travellers booked for the add-on, one of these is optional. There are an additional 6 people booked for the Borneo tour alone. The ages range from mid-40's to early-70's. There are 10 women and 4 men booked on to the add-on, this is not including those who are just doing Borneo. You will depart from Heathrow at 11.30hrs on the 19th May and arrive in Kota Kinabalu at 11.20hrs on the 20th June due to a stopover in Singapore. You will arrive back at Heathrow at 05.55hrs on the 2nd June.

Ultimate Alaska:

For the 23/05/16 departure, there are 7 travellers booked - 5 of which are women and 2 are men. The ages range from mid-40's to late-70's. For the 05/09 departure, there are currently 2 people booked, which are both women. Their both of their ages are mid-60's.

For both of these dates you will depart from Heathrow at 12.30hrs and arrive in Anchorage, Alaska at 20.10hrs on the same day. You will arrive back in Heathrow at 13.00hrs.

Untold Cambodia and Laos:

At the moment there is nobody booked on this date. You will depart from Heathrow at 7.50hrs on the 6th September and arrive in Phnom Penh International Airport at 13:15hrs on the 7th September, after a stop-off in Vietnam. You will arrive back in Heathrow at 07:40hrs on the 20th September.

A Wild Arctic Summer:

There is one man booked on this trip, who is in their mid-60's. You will depart from Heathrow at 12.05hrs on 10th August and will arrive in Toronto at 14:45hrs. You will arrive back in Heathrow at 11:05 on the 19th August.

I hope this helps, and if you need any other questions answered please let me know.As you may be aware, these flight times are only provisional and will be finalised in your final documents.

Kindest Regards,

Monty

Hi Monty, as you know I'm booked on the Borneo tour and I'm wondering what you mean by an optional booking - do you mean provisional? Can you check if this applies to my booking please? You see when I booked Borneo just before I went away on the Balkan tour I wasn't 100% sure if I could make those dates and I asked if I could make a provisional booking. I was told the best way to proceed was to go ahead and book the tour and if it transpired that I couldn't make the dates, I could swap to another tour. As things stand I can indeed do the May departure for Borneo and I'm very excited about it but I'm now a little concerned that the booking is in some way provisional/optional. There is nothing on my paperwork to indicate this and I'm currently in discussion with Bev regarding connecting flights so I hope all is well. Please could you double check this for me? I don't have my booking reference to hand as I'm away from home at present.

Many thanks,

Hi Bob,

You are not the optional booker, which means that your booking has been confirmed. An optional booker is someone who is booked provisionally - this could be something to do with flight upgrades, health reasons or anything that may be on request.

I hope this puts your mind at ease.

Kindest Regards,

Monty

Hi Monty

Forgive me for having a 'senile' moment. You say that for the May dates there are 14 travellers booked for the main tour with Singapore add-on and 6 for the Borneo part only, which means there are 20 on the trip. I thought the tour had only 15 places in all?

Hi Jaya,

In case Monty doesn't answer - the website only shows places for the main tour, not the add-on. This is a really stupid design feature and one I hope will be sorted out asap! There were 15 places for the main tour and I think 8 for the main tour plus add-on and I have a feeling the add-on for the May tour has been increased to 12 places due to the demand. So there will probably be around 27 on the tour altogether as I'm sure it will very shortly be sold out!

I've emailed Julia several times about mistakes and shortcomings on the new website - typos on numerous pages etc (including Mexico being listed as South America! And Burma, Malaysia etc still not featuring on the destinations tab), as well as the lack of info on the various add-ons to the different tours and other missing info as well. I am sure that Julia has passed this information on, but alas none of them have been rectified so far. The web team must be very busy!

Best wishes,

Bob

Hi Jaya and Bob,

That's correct Bob, the website does only show the availability for the main tour. Currently, there are 8 people booked for the main tour alone - one of those being optional. This does mean that there is only ONE space left and you'll see that on the website. I will give you a quick update on numbers for the add-on - there are 13 travellers booked at the moment, and there is ONE space left on the add-on too.

Julia has passed on the information that you provided her with to the web team, so they are aware of the mistakes. Unfortunately, some of these are more developmental issues than quick changes so may take a little longer.

Kindest Regards,

Monty

Hi Bob and Monty

Thank you for the explanation. 27 is not a very big number so should be okay. It seems that the add-on is proving very popular. I can't wait for this tour especially after hearing all about the itinerary on the Wireless broadcast last Saturday. This is going to be an amazing adventure.

Hi Sally,

For the July departure of this tour, there is currently one traveller booked on the Toronto add-on and one person optionally booked for the tour alone. However, it is still early days and I am sure this will be a popular tour come next year.

Hi Sally

Wild Arctic Summer tour is the one I would love to do, but it will have to be in 2017 as next year is fully booked. If you do decide to go next year, then I look forward to reading your review.

Hi Lucinda,

There are 3 women doing the tour alone, with another 2 women booked on the Vietnam add-on. This leaves 2 men who are booked on the add-on too.

The provisional flight times for Norway's Northern Lights and Huskies at New Year are:

On the 29th December you will be departing from Heathrow at 10.20, and you will arrive in Tromso at 18.10. This includes a stop in Oslo.

On the 2nd January, you will depart from Tromso at 11.45, and arrive back at Heathrow by 16.25. This journey also includes a stop in Oslo.

I hope this helps.

Hi Lucinda,

The ages of the travellers for this tour start at the late-40's up to the early-70's. You'll fit in just fine, I am sure.
