Hi Cheryl,
Hopefully the following answers your questions but if you have any further queries then please let me know....
1. Will we have any free time in the places we visit to do our own exploring or shopping? (back at the hotel after the organised tours)
This is a very busy tour and the days often don't finish until after dinner. You'll find that there isn't a lot of free time, and what there is, is normally an hour or two at the end of the day. There are some shopping opportunities along the way as you will visit jade, pearl, silk and pottery outlets during the days.
2. How many are booked for the river cruise as I see the trip without the add on appears to be sold out?
There are 12 booked on the river cruise add-on, with 16 on the main tour.
3. A rough age of those going.
late 40s - late 70s
4. I am staying at the premier in opposite airport, is this where other people are staying and on the day we fly is there somewhere we meet up or is this just done when we arrive in china?
People stay in various hotels depending on whether they have booked with us or direct with the hotel, why not post in the Say hello to other single travellers section and see if one of your fellow travellers gets touch. You have access to the executive lounge in the UK before you fly, this is a great place to relax before travel and of course, meet others on your trip.
5. So looking forward to this trip but it sounds exhausting and I may need to book a holiday to recover from it!
The days are long, but feedback from this tour is that it's a great trip and you'll have so many great memories when you return. If you need a relaxing break after, why not take a look at one of our Escape holidays 😉
6. Do we need a warm coat or just a water proof mac?
April is one of China’s spring months and the climate is pleasant and sunny and the Yangtze experiences mild temperatures with higher humidity. We’d recommend that you pack a lightweight waterproof jacket in case of the odd shower and a warm sweater/jacket to wear in the evenings.
Kindest regards,
Julia
