Hi everyone,

I have just registered and seriously looking at booking a late deal but some important information is missing from the listing, can members please advise re the following;

a) do driver tips have to be given each day or can they all be given on the last day if it is the same driver for the entire trip

b) flight details are lacking in that it only shows departure information and no mention of times, number of stops etc. I would dread starting a holiday with say a three stop flight of 20 hours or so and as I live 100 miles from the nearest main airport I may need to consider an airport hotel

c) can I book the optional excursions during the tour rather than at the time of booking as I sometimes need to rest for the odd day and it would be best if I didn't forward plan too much

d) do all the coaches used have air con and toilets

Thanks in anticipation

Jeff

Hi Jeff

I have been on many JY tours so I will try and answer your questions ..

A/

Re tipping the driver if you have had the same driver for the whole tour most I have done have been, but it does depend on which sort of tour your on...you either tip the driver or tour manager personally or sometimes some body takes charge and passes an envelope around to be handed over. It's up to you which way you want to tip...I make sure I have a couple of envelopes with me..

B/

Flight details are always lacking as in the fact they can change so JY can only give the information they have to hand at that time, if you have to arrange transport or hotels it's a risk you take, it would depend how close to departure you are booking if they could give confirmed flight times etc

C/

Personally I do not book optional tours beforehand unless they say I have to, as sometimes it depends on numbers of people if they run when your there, also I might source something else I would like to do on that time rather than what's on offer. And sometimes the tour manager might have other things on offer which might be of more interest.

D/

Regarding coaches in my experience yes there is air con and a toilet on most coaches I have been on. Air con can become a problem as some like it others don't, and if there is a toilet it is to be used for emergencys, there are many coffee and cake (comfort) stops along the way.

Hope this helps you

Hi All,

I have just returned from my first Just you holiday in France. It was fabulous! I was very nervous as I didn't know what to expect. We were so looked after. The tour guide (Lyn) was brilliant, she really made the holiday for us. I made lots of new friends. The hotel was exceptional. Luckily the weather was on our side and it was beautiful. This was my dream holiday to Monet's Garden and I was not disappointed!

Anyway if your thinking of taking the plunge, think no more, just book!

:)

Glad you enjoyed your holiday, my first holiday is in February I am going to Vietnam and Cambodia :thumbup:

Glad you enjoyed your Holiday I will bear that in mind for the future as I have heard others praise that holiday up. My first holiday to JU is today and I am a bit nervous too but a lot of feedback tells me I will be fine. I am off to croatia the Istrian coast

Have just returned from Costa de la luz. This was my 1st holiday with JU.Had a great time thank you to everyone for making it such an enjoyable expereince.

I do have a couple of points though. The hotel is very big so although the food was varied the hot food tended to be cold, the meat was tough and very difficult to eat., the salad selection was good though.

The rooms with a sea view and a balcony are above the entertainment so the noise level can be high. The rooms are very spacious and kept to a high level of cleanliness.

The other comment I would also like to make is that there are not JU reps at all the UK airports as suggested on the website. The airport staff are very helpful though.

I am planning to have another holiday with JU next year just have to decide when and where.

HI elliejane,

Thank you for your comments, however this post may be better suited in the review section of the forum so the people who are looking into the Costa de la Luz tour, can see your thoughts/points of your recently holiday.

Kindest regards,

Monty

Hello Grace

I have not been on this tour, can I suggest you look at the review section and see if anybody have left a review or handy tips. If there is a specific question about the tour leave a message on the editors board, they can find information out for you.

I tend to book the full,on tours where your out and about, so therefor these tours can be full on so expect early mornings and sometimes very long journeys from one place to another. Most coaches have toilet on board but comfort stops are often. Normally more ladies than men on a tour and a wide age range, people do get on together there will always be people you like more than others but that's life.

If there are injections required or malaria tablets etc, I suggest you make an appointment with your doctor or practice nurse and you take their advice.

Try and do and experience all you can as you might not pass through that country ever again.

Have fun and have a great time.

Hello and welcome

You might get more response if you post this as a new heading also include the date if there is more than one tour going in November .

I have been on many JY tours and not every one uses this function, so don't worry if you do not get an answer.

I have been to Barbados many years ago not with JY more like in my teens, my memories were it was VERY hot and the people were lovely.

Have fun

Hello. I've just joined JustYou as I'm contemplating a vacation at Christmas, possibly in Northern Cyprus or in Marrakech. I'm looking at reviews, trying to figure which might be the best.l

After gazing at the Just You brochures for over a year I have plucked up the courage to book a holiday in Croatia. Any advice would be welcome as I have not been abroad on my own and the whole Gatwick thing is scary.

Hi HMT

Try posting a question in the main section with you tour date and destination then hopefully you will link up with others, you will be fun I can assure you, I have been in 11 JY tours and many have been from LGW.

Hi HMT, I went from Gatwick to China with JY last year - my first time using the airport. I found it very easy to find my way around - and I even had to change terminals as well! It is much easier to negotiate than Heathrow in my opinion.

I was in Croatia for the first time earlier this year and absolutely loved it - a fantastic country with amazing scenery and architecture. You will have a wonderful holiday, I am sure. Just go with an open mind, be friendly and determined to enjoy yourself and I am sure you will be just fine.

Best wishes,

Bob

Hi

I have just joined the forum and would be glad to hear from anyone who has been on solo cruises around France / Spain, the Med or the Baltic.

I went on a France / Spain cruise this year with Fred Olsen and really enjoyed it, but it would be good to go on a cruise with fellow solo cruise people. So it would be good to hear from anyone thinking of booking a solo cruise from the UK.

Welcome to you, can I suggest you ask this question on the main board, you might get more response. Or have a look on review section I have done many great tours with JY, but never a cruise.

Hi Nixon

Thanks for your advice.

Do you know of any single people who might want to go on a cruise sailing from the UK ? And maybe meet up just before the ship leaves the port ?

I think this would be a fun way to do a cruise for single people who maybe feel a bit left out while on board.

If anyone else likes this idea, please let me know.

Cheers
