To Bosuncat-

I was in Inverness in October with Just You for the Jacobite steam train of the Highlands. Culloden was included- hard to think that this small area was so devastatingly lethal for all those poor men. We went on all the trains and saw most of the Highlands. First time in Scotland.

Jan.

Ooh! Didn't know about that one. I went independently in May a few years back. Had a lovely time up there on my own with stunning weather. Did Loch Ness and Culloden.

Hi Will I know this is on another thread but cant Just you do city breaks flying from Manchester as going to Gatwick for an holiday is more expense with travel costs and hotels for overnight stays

. I would have liked to have booked Rome in November but not worth the hassle so thinking of going alone which is not ideal as I like company unless I could find someone who would be interested in joining me.

Ideas for other short breaks would be Warsaw, Barcelona and Amersdam

Hi Margaret,

Our aviation team (and product team) are working hard to offer Manchester (and other regional flights) on as many of our holidays as possible. Sadly there are reasons why this is not available on all of our holidays, for example the flight schedules not matching up with the holidays, airline terms & conditions on working with groups and the availability of seats on busy routes.

It's always worth keeping an eye out as when we can offer these flights, we will!

And thanks for the suggestions - they are always welcome for Will and his team to consider!

Kindest regards,

Julia

City visits I would like to make would include Gothenburg, Helsinki, Krakow, Palermo (to include some of the anti-Mafia tours), Lucerne and Marseille.

Cities: How about Moscow and St. Petersburg (but not together, they deserve the whole break to themselves). Then Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malaga, Toledo, a 'foodie break' at an Agriturismo place in Emilia Romagno (no better food in Italy), or nearer home Belfast or Edinburgh. And Palermo would be brilliant for an extended city break, so many great tours to take from here).

Another thread for you to have your say and directly influence some new holidays here!

We have had numerous mentions of short city tours as a possible holiday from you, so this is something we are looking into a little bit more.

What I would like to know from you is what destinations would you be likely to book for a 3 to 4 day city break?

Remember - we always listen to you!

Have a great Thursday all

Most cities which have an interesting history, or a good theatre scene, I went to lake Garda and the opera whitch was fantastic. All be it rained during the performance, the trip was well worth it. Maybe Salzburg could be of interest.

is it possible to offer a choice of hotels, this would give the customer the choice to upgrade

dear Will

I have always wanted to visit Cheltenham. most of all though I want

to go back to slimbridge. spent a few weekends up there and love

anything to do with birds. it is especially good in the winter when

the birds come in for our winter. I would some time in the city and

then if possible go to slimbridge even if it meant spending time

alone., but I am sure there must be a lot of birdwatchers on your

books who will think the same. anyway just a thought!

thanks sue southampton

Hello Sue and Will,

Last time in Slimbridge many years ago. Such a beautiful place. If it could be merged with Cheltenham and Gloucester, I would go :)

The Lake District is another favourite of mine, would need a month to see it all properly. My youngest daughter thankfully was not named after the place where she was conceived as she would be called Troutbeck Bridge :P

Trying to get holiday for Bologna and a Taste of Italy.

Hi Karin,

We used to have an Endinburgh break, however it was not popular enough to continue. I am not sure if you have seen, we do have a couple of UK weekend breaks.

The first is 'King Richard III's Leicester' (https://www.justyou.co.uk/en-gb/tours/king-richard-iiis-leicester-experience-weekend/) and the second is Swindon and Winchester (https://www.justyou.co.uk/en-gb/tours/swindon-winchester-experience-weekend/)

I will pass your suggestions on to a member of my team, and hopefully we will able to offer more weekend experiences in the UK soon.

Kindest Regards,

Monty

I must say that I live in Swindon about half a mile from the Marriott but I've never thought of it as an obvious base for a tour of winchester

I booked for the Leicester trip when I was at the 50's Plus show. Do you know how many of us are on this trip?

Hi Jan,

That's great to hear - how did you find the show? At the moment 16 people are booked on this trip, so it is cleared to operate.

Kindest regards,

Monty

Hello Monty,

I found the show boring (see other thread that I had posted as there is another comment from a lady who loved it) The journey was a nightmare as it was in the week. I have never been to Olympia midweek so did not know that the train service did not exist. Had to get the next tube from Earls Court to West Brompton then overland to Olympia. Maybe one of the reasons why I did not spend much time at the show as I still had to get to Harrods ;)

Hi Jan,

Oh no! I do hope our stand and booking your Leicester break made it a worth while journey.

Kindest regards,

Hello Monty,

It was worth it to meet Sam and Christina. Paid both Flavours of Tuscany and Leicester which I am now counting down :)

really interested in city breaks but only if I can fly from Manchester or Liverpool.Extra cost of journey to Gatwick/Heathrow plus 1 or 2 overnight stays at the airport makes short European trips too expensive.

Would love to go to Rome.
