Hi Brenda, I am also booked on this tour and really looking forward to it. I have travelled with Just You on 3 other tours and all of them have been fabulous. JY know how to look after us and make sure we all have a good time. Looking forward to meeting you. Carol

Hi Brenda,

I have been travelling solo since 2005  after being widowed but still having a lust for exotic travel. I'm certain you will enjoy travelling with Just you - I've always had great tour leaders and everything has been so well organised. I did this tour in November 2015. I think that the itinerary is very much the same as it was and the hotels also look to be the same. It is a fabulous tour with many many highlights. The lesser known places to me  ( Khajuraho and Fatephur sikri) were also a wonderful surprise. It is a full on tour with lots of early mornings, but well worth the effort. The sights are quieter, cooler and have a better light in the early morning. On the early morning tours (Ranthambore , Taj Mahal and Varanasi) you will have time to relax  when you return to the hotel. I found the first two days the most tiring, but even then the wonderful sights more than compensated for that. Don't let the longer journeys put you off as there is So much to see whilst travelling too and you get to see true Indian life in the more rural parts. All the hotels were very comfortable - I had some lovely large very clean and comfortable rooms. Food was excellent throughout with fantastic choice ( mainly buffet but good quality) Have a fantastic time and if you have any specific questions just ask. Jan

Hi,

I'm also on this trip with the add-on. I've been on numerous Just You tours, this being my first long-haul trip. I'm really looking forward to it and to meeting you both.

See you soon.

Hi, I too am traveling to India on the 6th Feb and looking forward to it very much. I would like to ask those who have done this trip how much cash would they recommend taking to cover extras like additional meals, tips etc. I know it's a difficult one to answer but this is my first time with JY so any advice on the matter would be most welcome.

Hi

I did this trip in 2012 and went to Kerala in 2015. On both occasions I took £500 in sterling and changed it to Indian rupees as required. Credit and Debit cards are accepted in large shops, hotels etc and ATMs can also be used.

I really enjoyed both of these tours and I am sure you will have a great time.

Hope this helps

Hi I did this tour five years ago and loved it!  A bit hard to remember back that far as to how much money I took but as a general rule, I usually budget as a rough guide on the following lines: the equivalent of £50/$50 a day if I have to buy lunch and dinner and £30/$30 if I just need dinner.  This seems to work well and I generally have money left over at the end.  Beware, wine is expensive in India so stick to beer!!

Cheers,

Bob

My first trip with Just You  Brenda and my first solo tour........also excited & nervous at the same time so know exactly how you feel.  So many decisions to make.....how much money to take......what jabs to have  ( to late now!) what clothing so on so forth.

I will make sure I make myself known to you at the airport. Until then.

Thanks Jan for your helpful review. I am doing this tour in Feb, my first ever tour and solo. Any other info you wish you had known before you went that you can pass on ?
