Help! I'm doing the japan revealed trip on 3 September and having a whole load of trouble trying to find out whether I need any vaccinations before I go. (It's probably too late now!) Gp wasn't any help as they ' don't do travel medicine'. Can anyone who's been on this trip, or to japan give me any advice?

I appreciate I need mossie repellent and a plug in mossie thing, but anything else?

I've just booked my first trip with JY on the October 8th Japan revealed tour with Hong Kong add-on!! OMG, can't believe I'm doing it! Just wondered if there's anyone else out there on this adventure also, or, would love to hear from others that have already done this amazing trip, Thanks

Thank you everyone for all your help. Had a very stressful day trying to sort things out, hence the plea for help, but the upshot is I have an appointment with a travel clinic on Sunday so hopefully I'll get sorted out.

According to GP surgery, I've never had any vaccininations, but I know I've had tetanus jab at least twice but may not be up to date. Wasn't impressed with their help or advice!

I do seem to be stressing out over this trip for some reason, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Thanks again everyone.

http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/destinations/asia- (east)/japan.aspx - it does pretty good country guides. From a brief glance it looks like none are compulsory.

Have a great trip.

Thanks Sally. What a great website and seems straightforward for Japan.

I've saved the site for future use. Thanks again.

Hi Jean,

I did Japan last October. I didn't need any specific vaccinations and you won't need mossie repellant.

I really enjoyed Japan - I am already planning on going back again next year. Do you know who your tour guide for this holiday yet? Hopefully you will have Sarah Wrightson - if so, you are in for a real treat.

Enjoy Japan.

John.

Thanks John for your help. I've not seen ( nor have I asked) about our tour guide, but if he/ she is anything like the guide we had last year in Tuscany, it'll be fine.

Looking forward to the tour, if not particularly, the flight!

Hi

What is the plane like?

I've flows super mega budget economy, and BA world Traveller.

One was a nightmare of 0 legroom, screaming children everywhere, and a terrible in flight movie played on a tony screen at the far end of the plane, and the other was a tranquil experience where I could stretch out and watch a choice of channels on my own personal TV.

How to the flights with JY compare?

Should I pack earplugs, or carpet slippers?

Hi PerfectBlue,

Which japan holiday are you on? I'm doing the May trip.

Hi Perfect blue

Just You uses the same planes as the majority of the public. The airline depends on where you are flying to. I think it is pot luck and unless you can afford to upgrade then you just have to put up with it. As for the screaming children everywhere, Just You usually don't offer many trips during school holidays and if you choose the date carefully then you will avoid lots of children, though nowadays not always so as children travel during school term times and people have also started travelling with very young babies. When I flew back from Turkey in October 2015 with Turkish Airlines, there was a baby just behind me who cried non stop. Mind you the mother was doing her best to keep it quiet. I did like flying with Turkish Airlines.

I did Japan last year, all flights then were Cathay Pacific, I thought there was adequate legroom and the inflight entertainment had some good choices with lots of recent releases
