Hi is there a particular age range for most holidays, or is it all ages. Not being ageist by the way. I've not been on a solo holiday before and suppose I am apprehensive about getting on with other people.

Hi Joe,

No there is an age range with any of the JY holidays although some companies do operate within age bands.

You usually get a spread of ages and it actually adds something to the group in my opinion.

There is an post about it in the advice section of this forum -

This question is always coming up I have just been on a USA tour age range 40-70.. This was my 10th JY tour main core age group I would say is 55-70...of course there are younger and older ones as well..age is just a number, people can be old at 30 and young at 80..being in a mixed age group works out really well for me it's nice to have a age range.

Hello Joe,

Most of us are in their 50's and 60's, the most laughs have been from the 70's and 80's as they discover a world of opportunity, new sights and smells, new drinks and food, that they could only imagine. They usually outrun the younger generation in their hurry to get there first!

Age is not a barrier on a Just You holiday

As a young at heart "older" traveller, I think the ability to relate to a diverse group of people, and a reasonable level of fitness is far more important than age, which after all, is just a number.

Hi Joe

If you have no problem getting on with people of all ages then Just You is for you. Everyone is friendly and you will not be left on your own unless you choose to be. Age is just a number. I have been on holidays where there have been younger people in their 20s and 30s. Average ages are between 40 - 80s. Life is too short to worry about ages and numbers!

I think we all worry about the age thing when we do our first trip, but as the others have said, age is just a number. I've done 13 trips now with ages ranging from 22 to 82 and age has never been a problem, and we all go on these trips to see the world and enjoy ourselves, some of my best trips have been where I was the youngest in the group; I have always found on JY trips everyone is made to feel welcome and part of the group, if they want to be, its often the tour manager thats early to bed while the rest of us are up until the early hours.

Hi Joe that was my first JY tour a little over four years ago and I really enjoyed it, especially Gibraltar, Ronda and the Alhambra. Mijas is a lovely town to stay in and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Since then I've been to north and south America, Africa and Asia with JY so I hope this will be the start of you travelling the world with them!

Have a great holiday when the time comes,

Bob

Hi Joe

You have chosen an excellent holiday. I did this trip in September 2010 and really enjoyed it. Like Bob said, Mijas is a lovely time and I felt quite safe walking around on my own even at night!

Enjoy your first experience with Just You and hope this is just the start of an adventure...

Regards

Jaya

Hi has anybody got any advice about keeping money safe. I have a pouch to carry money in safely when I have it on me. This sounds like a safe place from the info given, but I don't want to be carrying all of my money around with me all the time. Do the rooms in the hotels have a safe.

A hello and welcome

It really does depend on the hotel, most hotels do have a safe in the room if not then there are usually safety deposit boxes in reception, I usually check on the hotel website, or if you have a tour in mind then ask the people in here that have been.

I have never had a problem
