As I've just taken early retirement I decided to take the plunge and mark the occasion with a special holiday! I've never travelled on my own before or been any further than europe so am feeling rather apprehensive.

I decided not to do the trip including Los Angeles & Hong Kong as I wanted to spend maximum time in NZ, however as the flight is so long have decided to upgrade to premium economy as suggested by someone else on this forum.

I live in Derbyshire so am travelling down the day before & going to the pre holiday get together. It would be good to hear from anyone else going on this trip.

Like you I asked for a quote from Just You for Premium Economy. I looked on the Air New Zealand website and noticed that the difference between economy and premium economy return was about £1100. However I was quoted an increase of £1870 - almost the total cost of a premium economy return to Auckland if you book on-line.

The young lady I spoke to at Just You was extremely pleasant but told me that this was the price increase Just You had been quoted by Air New Zealand.

So I've decided to stick with economy and use the "difference" to book America's Golden West next year.

Have a great time in NZ, Megan. I went to Northern Cyprus with Just You in June. It was my first Just You (and single) holiday and it was fabulous.
