I have also booked the Classic Cities of Italy tour leaving on Sept. 11. I have never been to Italy before and am really looking forward to it. Have you booked the pre holiday get together?

I have never been to Italy before and am really looking forward to the holiday. I have not thought about the pre holiday get together as I live in hampshire and it is not too far from the airport, although the flight is a bit early and it will mean leaving home about 3.30 AM!! Are you going to the get together?

I am going to the get together. Because the flight time is so early I need to travel to London on the Wednesday.

Let me know what you decide about the get together. Only eight weeks until we go. I can't wait.

I have decided to travel to Gatwick in the morning and leave my car there and drive home so I won't be going to the get together. I am so excited, this is my first solo holiday, how about you? Which part of the country are you travelling from?

I am travelling from Scotland to Gatwick and am quite worried about finding my way from the airport to the hotel! I have not been to London on my own before.

I have been on holiday twice by myself. Neither with J.Y. or a group. I am really looking forward to this holiday as I think we will see so much more than if we were travelling alone.

I was pleased Lesley let us know how much she enjoyed her holiday and that she wants to return. I expect we will feel the same. I hope we get better weather!!

The hotel will be very near to the airport(it would be best for you to take a taxi).

The trip did feel rushed at times but then it is just 'flavours' and it gave me a taste of where I would like to go back to for a longer visit. It was tiring too with some early mornings but worth it, in the evenings after dinner we tended to sit and chat over a drink or go out for a walk (once it had stopped raining!)

You can pay what you want for lunches (same as here)and drinks in most hotels were reasonably priced so I didn't spend as much as I expected! It is an individual thing spending money.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and I will certainly go back to Italy with JY next year, maybe Sorrento.

I am not sure how much to take. I thought I would take some euros, some sterling & my plastic. That way I should have it covered.

I am starting to think about what to pack, so I also hope Lesley replies.

I rang JY last week & while I was on I asked how many had booked for our tour. At that point there were 27, so quite a large group.
