I did this trip a couple of years ago. Word of advise if you wish to go to Alcatraz you will need to book a ticket to do it before you go as this tour gets booked up real quick. You can book your tickets on line before flying out to the USA. Just you do a boat tour during the day in San Fran I would suggest you miss the boat trip as its only going around the bay and book your trip to see Alcatraz. Extremley easy to get around San Fran and make sure you take a trip on a cable car too. A must is the helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon, its an early start, but worthwhile, make sure you do the aeroplane, helicopter and boat trip all in one trip as this takes half the time of the other trips but you see more so dont waste your time with the other trips on offer (mind you it is the most expensive but it is the best). Vegas is fab I will defy anyone not to love it. Enjoy your trip everyone, I'm off to South Africa with Just you next week (well will be as long as this ash problem goes away)!!
