Hi there. I'm going 5th Feb from Heathrow. My 1st ever solo holiday. Nervous, anxious but excited. Having vaccinations next week. Visa applied for but not heard anything back yet. Where are you travelling from?

Hi, I'm travelling from Heathrow but on 4th February - not 5th.    Not yet applied for Visa but getting jabs tomorrow.

I am going on invitation to India holiday as well. Really can't wait. Having a bit of trouble with completing the visa form as it keeps throwing me out but I shall persevere! Does anyone know if the hotels we will be staying at use the three pin sockets? 

Looking forward to meeting you Tripster. NanaJac, are you on the Spirit of India trip perhaps.

Hi Alison, it seems mostly 3-round pin plugs used.  The hotels we are staying in seem to cater for the international market, hopefully they will have USB ports installed too.  

I applied for my Visa before Christmas, the tracker says Sherpa are submitting it to the authorities between 11-18 January and I should get it 26 January.   I need to top up my jabs now.   Happy New Year.

Hi Alison. I'm on the Spirit of India trip from Heathrow on the 5th Feb with Armistrar add on. Mtmy 1st ever solo trip so glad to connect with others.  I asked about travel adapters and was advised to get a universal one. Hope that helps..

Don't be nervous about it being your first trip. It is only natural but everyone will be so friendly and it's surprising how quickly the group melds together. You will be well looked after by an experienced tour manager and don't forget that everyone was a newbie once upon a time!

Got my Visa today!    I've been on several solo tours, everything is very oganised so you aren't on our own, just the days when there is free time to do your own thing but hopefully by  then we would have made new friends to spend time with.    I'm looking forward to a bit of warmth, it's been so cold!
