Hi,

My name's Haydn and am from North Wales. I've booked to go on the Spirit of India tour departing 9 October 2025. This will be my first time to Asia and only my second holiday outside of Europe. I went on a Caribbean cruise in 2017 with another company. I'm also going to do the Amritsar add-on. I wonder if anybody else who's booked this holiday is also visiting the Community page and would like to introduce themselves?

Hi Haydn

I am also on the same tour as you on 909/10/2025 and this will be my third time with JY to Asia. I have been to Thailand and Sri Lanka previously.

Hi Sue,

It's nice to hear from someone else who's going on the Spirit of India holiday on 09/10/2025. I don't know where to start as regards to what I'm looking forward the most to seeing in India - it's everything! But if I have to narrow down the list, then I guess it will be the Taj Mahal and the Ranthambore Safari Park. First time visitors to India often say that that country is an assault on the senses. I'm beginning to read online articles on tips for first time visitors to India.

Hi Haydn

it will be a wonderful experience and so.much to see. Have you watched the new series of race across the world on bbc2 because they are on their way from Nepal to India?

Hi I did the spirit of India in March this year.   It was the most amazing experience.   I didn't do the add on but others did and said it was great too.     Be prepared for lots of travelling you are covering a large area.  I found it all part of the adventure but others did complain about the early mornings.

The Taj Mahal was incredible at sunrise.      We got to see a tiger up close at the Rathembore park.

The Ganges was again like nowhere on earth.

If you want to ask me anything then fire away.  Otherwise enjoy, it is a fabulous place and I loved every minute of it.

Hi Sue,

I have seen a few episodes of Race Across the World and loved it. As the holiday approaches I will be login in to Just Yous community pages more frequently. I'm departing from Manchester with Emirates. Where are you departing from? I wonder how many people will be on the holiday? I haven't been abroad with JY before.

Haydn.

Hi Mags, I'm considering booking the tour over Christmas this year, so your positive feedback feedback is very much appreciated. It will be first solo tour and my first time travelling with Just You ... eeek!!

There are so many highlights on this tour. For me it's The Ganges and the Taj of course as well as Ranthambore, you were very lucky to see tigers I think.

I appreciate that it's a lot of travelling with early mornings etc. which I'm prepared for. What time if year did you do the tour and di you have any tips for me?.😊

Hi Hadyn

It's not long until the tour to India on 9th October and I am flying from London Heathrow with Virgin at 20.05 for Delhi. I just have to pack nearer the time.

Hi Lindy

I'm a newbie and have booked on the Spirit of India tour over Christmas.  I so excited by all of it to be honest, but Varanasi is one I'm fascinated by.  Let me know if you decide to book it!

Mags (another one!)

Yes, I booked yesterday eeek and I'm SO excited too. I replied to you on another post yesterday. It would be great to connect on social media, and easier to chat I think. Are you on Facebook and/or WhatsApp? 🇮🇳🛕

Hi Haydn,

I've just joined this community page and I'm also going on the Spirit of India tour next week. I'm not doing the add on, but I'm really looking forward to the trip. Looking forward to seeing the Taj and hopefully spotting some tigers. Looks like the weather is going to be very hot 🥵

look forward to meeting everyone.
