Hi

I've done 2 trips with just you and will do Australia highlights in Nov which I'm looking forward to.

I've been watching race across the world and am considering India or China but can't decide.  I'm not really keen on the cruise on China but maybe it's amazing. Does anyone have a view even if not with just you?

Thanks.

Sam

Hi Sam,

I did the China tour pre Covid with the sister company Travelsphere. I had previously travelled with JY but opted for TS because they did the cruise whilst at that time JY did not do it. The thinking being that China was a country I would only visit the once and I wanted to experience as much as possible. TS were also doing a Hong Kong add on not included on the JY trip. I am not a lover of big ship cruising on the ships I see almost daily departing Southampton but this is an altogether different experience. People are there for the experience and not the beer! The ship was comfortable with 2 single beds separated by an aisle. Some of the couples said they felt a bit cramped but as a solo traveller I just put my case on the second bed and had plenty of room. You are on a river so the journey is quite smooth. There is a fair bit to see as you cruise along and there were a variety of interesting included and optional shore excursions so you are not on the ship 24/7. There was onboard entertainment and food was good and plentiful. On a separate note most internal travel when I did the trip was by air but I see it is now by rail. Trains are not unlike the Japanese bullet trains which speed along quite smoothly at 200 km per hour.  I dd the trip October/November and a word of warning - China is vast with weather contrasts. Shorts and tees in Shanghai but black ice by the time we got to the Great Wall where warm clothes and scarves were the order of the day so you might neeed to pack for all eventualities. Anything more specific then feel free to ask. Ian.
