Good afternoon all,

Here at Just You HQ we've been day-dreaming again....

This week, we were thinking that we all have our fair share of destinations that we are desperate to explore, and we know that you, our avid Community adventurers, have a huge list of places you want to go, but which one continent is the one you would most like to spend time exploring?

Why not make your selection above and share with us your reasons why in the comments?

Africa

Africa is an inspiration of a continent and any adventure here will bring a spark to your travelling tales. Meet the animals that captivate the world’s imagination, take a road trip along South Africa’s incredible coastline, sink your toes into pale, silky sands. Whichever aspect of this giant continent you long to experience, it will be unforgettable.

Antarctica

Nothing short of awesome, Antarctica is a beautiful white wilderness of frozen landscapes, floating icebergs and fascinating wildlife. Here, in possibly the most remote and empty place on earth, you’ll have a chance to meet huge colonies of penguins and spot majestic whales as they leap through the water. .

Asia

Asia is a continent that oozes magic and epitomises the exotic. Unrivalled architecture, masses of natural wonders, ancient treasures and cities that burst with colour and excitement. Communities that are nurtured by age-old traditions. Asia is vast - literally and culturally - prepare to be blown away by its splendour.

Australia/Oceania

Intriguing, mysterious, overflowing with wonders and bursting with treats. A vast red desert carpets Australia’s centre while the coastline shimmers and marvellous man-made wonders and unique wildlife make the country unforgettable. New Zealand’s natural marvels - thermal springs, craggy peaks and gleaming glaciers draw interest and intrigue from around the world.

Europe

A cacophony of cultures, swathes of history, beautiful landscapes - Europe is diverse and ever-changing. No matter how much of this jam-packed continent you’ve seen, there’s always something new around the corner. Towns as old as the hills, natural phenomena to whisk up your imagination, sophisticated cities and rugged mountain ranges. Globally-desired art, cultures of the world, delicious flavoursome food and wines of distinction. Europe is a continent no other can match.

North America

A grand continent of open plains and parched deserts knitted together by iconic cities, extraordinary towns and history that stretches back through the ages. From the crashing falls of Niagara and the wilderness of the Rocky Mountains. Beaches with presence and the uplifting vibes of the south. North America really is the land of plenty.

South America

Brazil’s colourful rhythms, Argentina’s elegance and style, the mysteries of the Amazon and the wondrous peaks of the Andes, South America is a sensational continent. Feel the beats of the tango, samba and salsa ring through your soul. Savour delicious, traditional food and famous wines. Stand face to face with iconic landmarks and admire nature’s best at the astonishing Iguaçú Falls.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Oh Julia, what a good question and so difficult to answer!!  I've seen a reasonable amount of the world but there is so much more I want to see.  The two continents that have always appealed to me most have been Africa and South America and after much deliberation, I plumbed for Africa.  I've visited Egypt, South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland but would love to see more - Morocco, Ethiopia, Kenya or Tanzania!  I love the scenery, the people and of course the wildlife!  But I also love South America - I've seen a little of Chile, Argentina and Brazil (having done the TS tour that JY now does and loving every minute of it) and am hopefully going to do the amazing new Chile tour in November.  I hope to visit Peru in a couple of years but would love to see more of that amazing continent (I see the Contrasts of S America tour has been dropped - I hope it will reappear in another form before too long or there will be another new S America tour focusing on dramatic landscapes and unique experiences!).

All the best,

Bob

Hi Julia

I have just gone with South America as I find this continent so much different than any other, having done that fantastic Peru tour with Travelsphere in 2014, I want to see more of this continent and are planning on Chile, Brazil and Argentina in the not too distant future, a close second came Africa as I love the people, the culture and of course the animals having done South Africa and Kenya, I shall never forget our night on the bar balcony overlooking a watering hole with a couple of young warthogs at the hole whilst watching these two lions slowly creeping down the bank ready for a kill only for a herd of elephants to arrive to chase the lions away, just fantastic it was we daren't go to bed

all the best

Hello All,

I have chosen Asia as there is so much that I would like to see there. Although I shall be in Singapore in October, this is one small section on my way to New Zealand- a place that has been on my To Do list 20 years ago. Not sure that I want to go to Australia.

South America was amazing with Argentina and Brazil with Iguacu Falls- who can forget the Argentine Tango being performed on the street, dancing in the rain on Copacabana Beach on New Years Eve to David Quetta and 6 million other people. Iguacu Falls was breath taking.

North America- been and done many times. Only need to do the West side.

Europe - done most of it.

Africa- done Morocco and Egypt- would love to see Cape Town and Victoria Falls

Antartica- still not sure about that one.

I chose Antartica as that is really kind of final frontier, hope to go there sometime, it is on my bucket list. Been to Asia, Europe, USA, South Africa and Australia, will be going to NZ in October.

I voted for Asia, so far I've only been to Burma - which I loved. Asia top of the list (for now). Really want to do a Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam combo next winter - as well as try to find time to fit in trips to Sri Lanka, India and China as soon as I can. (Iran too, but waiting to see how the US visa situation affects people who go there.)

But ........ still haven't done Oceania or South America at all and I really want to get onto trips there as soon as I can as well. Europe I fit in short trips as and when I can (going to Sicily next month and Iceland in May - not JY trips). And there are parts of the US still on the bucket list (did look at the JY new tour, America's Music Heritage, but there were a couple of drawbacks there so discounted that one - tho' the TS 6 states of New England I would book, if I can find a friend to book as well.) I see Bob has mentioned Morocco and Ethiopia in Africa, yes me too.

No idea how I'll find the time for all this, or the money.

I chose Asia as I would love to see more holidays to India, I am sure they would be popular with a couple of India based tv programmes on TV at the moment to tempt people to visit. I have been on Spirit of India and to Kerala but the new trip on the boat doesn't appeal so much.

I've chosen Australia as desperate to go there. First holiday was to New Zealand but couldn't afford to do Oz then. I'm wading through America, Canada and Africa before starting on South America and bits of Europe. No interest in the far east yet!

Hi Angie,

JY already go to Malaysia - to Borneo, which is much more interesting than peninsular Malaysia!  Seeing the orangutans was an amazing experience!

Cheers,

Bob

So many places to explore - and so little time really to explore them!! I would love to do the Antarctica trip at some point - think it would be a one off amazing experience...however I might need one or two whiskys to keep me warm on the inside.

Sorry Bob but it is the peninsular that I want to see. I may have to do both to compare them ha ha.

I chose Asia as I really want to go to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Burma but I also want to explore South America, Antartica, Australia and New Zealand. Australia is booked for next year. Would also like to go to Tanzania and Madagascar. Too many places to decide where to go next!
