I have just booked on the Calabria trip starting 30th August. The hotel looks lovely, and also the private beach. Can you advise what the swimming is like from this beach? It doesn't look from the photographs that many people are in the water, and in early September I would certainly hope to get into that gorgeous blue sea.

Hi Poppiloka,

This beach is suitable for swimming, and you can also snorkel as the sea had a rocky bed which hosts a variety of marine flora and fauna.

Thanks,

Vickie

Hi,

I did this trip in September 2015. The beach is quite pebbly so you need shoes for swimming. It was also very cold! However, you may be luckier with the weather! I was desperate to get into the sea having had a hip replacement earlier in the year (salt water is very good for you!). There were not that many people actually swimming I have to say. However, the beach restaurant is down there, which is excellent. The hotel is also excellent. They have a 9 hole golf course if you are a golfer, and they grow their own fruit and vegetables, and make their own wine!

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Hils

Hi

I was on the Calabria tour in early October 2018 and although I didn't personally swim there were plenty of our group that did.   The journey to the beach is an adventure and the hotel has it's own restaurant their and a few of has an amazing seafood lunch one day.   I'm sure you will have an amazing holiday as I did, and the rest of the group.

Hi

This trip is definitely on my radar for possibly May 2019. I would appreciate it if you could find the time on your return to do a review of your holiday as the last review was about 2 years ago so a recent opinion would be good. Enjoy your holiday in August and let JY do what they do best.

Many thanks Paul
