I'm booked on the Discover Vietnam tour ref no A333616 departing on Nov 5th from LHR flying with Malaysia airlines via Kuala Lumpar, could you tell me if for this flight online check in is possible

also how many are booked on the tour M/F ratio age's etc and if a tour manager has been allocated as of yet

By the looks it, you can check-in online 48 hours before departure. For this tour, there are currently 8 people booked on, 5 of these are women and 3 of these are men. However, your tour manager has not yet been allocated, but if you ask me again in a couple of weeks, I may be able to get this information for you.

I have also booked Discover Vietnam departing 5th November.

I noted that there are only 8 people booked on this tour, but does that include the people who are doing the add-on to Cambodia ?

I know that there is a small group of 5 of us on this trip who have met on previous JY or TS tours, one lady in this group of 5 is doing the Cambodia add-on. I sincerely hope that she is not the only one booked on this add-on.

I would be very grateful if you could please confirm total numbers for both the main tour and the extension if they are different.

I fly regularly with MAS and can confirm online check in is available 48 hours before the flight - although sometimes it doesn't open till 47 hrs!!! So keep trying until you get through. You can then chose your seat for free.

The 8 people mentioned were for the Vietnam trip alone, which does not include the add-on to Cambodia. There are 10 people on the add-on which does take the number of travellers up to 18 people. So she certainly is not the only person booked on this add-on.

There are 9 people currently booked on the main tour, which leaves one space remaining. However the Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh & Mekong River Add-on is fully booked, taking the numbers up to 19 people.

Branwen Edwards has been allocated as the tour manager for the add-on, but no one has been confirmed for the main tour as yet. Please note, this is subject to change.

We had the same TM for the Vietnam tour and the add-on and I'm sure it'll be the same for you - it doesn't makes sense for this tour to have a separate TM for both parts of the tour. This is a great tour and I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. We had Branwen in China last year and she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet - extremely conscientious, very friendly and enthusiastic about her tours. You are in safe hands!

unfortunately I am not doing the add on but a friend Pat whom we met in Peru last year is, I also have one of the guys I met in Australia doing our tour, a great guy, you would think they'd have the same TM for both unless she's not available for both

Thank you for your comments regarding Bronwen. One does normally assume that we get the same TM for the main holiday and the add-on. My only thought is if Bronwen is only being TM for our add-on, is perhaps that she is already in the area for one of the TS trips (know there are a couple of similar TS trips at same time as ours). A TS trip that perhaps hasn't got an add-on. This could make it easier for JY to get a TM for just our main holiday.Obviously am just thinking this and no doubt probably wrong!!!

Oh, and when we go to Vietnam do we need to take a spoon and fork in our rucksacks?

If we have to use chopsticks and aren't given a fork and spoon to eat I will be needing three changes of clothes every day. I tried chopsticks yet again on Wednesday and failed miserably to master them, even after training!

please could you clear something up for me regarding online check in for our Vietnam trip 5th Nov, you sent me my PNR number for checking in but it says on our final documents Airport check in YES online chick in NO

could you clear this up as staying overnight at LHR and don't want to be wasting time trying to check in online when it isn't available, as long as I know that's fine

Being as you have a reference, it is possible that you can check-in online. However, you will have to give this a try a bit closer to the time as we cannot guarantee whether it'll work or not I'm afraid.
