The transfer time is important I was thinking about going on a tour to Calabria but the transfer time from the airport to the hotel is 4 hours!I always check with customer services before booking as this can have a huge impact on the holiday.

I agree with the transfer time business. I was all set to try the Calabria trip and then Monarch (which JY were down to use) pulled out of Lamezia airport meaning JY have to use Naples which is a heck of a trek down to Calabria. I hope that something might get sorted for next year but I am not holding my breath. 😕

Would it be possible to include transfer times between destination airport and hotel in your holiday description? I appreciate these may have to be only approximate but it would help when planning a holiday especially if you you have to get from the north to a southern airport and then more onward travel.

I agree that transfer times might be a problem, but I have taken the view that since I have never been to Italy, the transfer of 4 hours from Naples to Cetraro will give me the opportunity to see more of the country than the tour itself will.

Also I would much rather fly BA to Naples and have a long than transfer than fly a budget airline for a shorter one.

Ultimately the journey is very scenic it doesn't feel so long; the tour itself is so lovely and the hotel a delight, that it's well worth it. If the journey is all that's putting you off, then don't think about it, you'll be missing a treat if don't visit...! 🙂

Re the transfer time from Naples airport to the Calabria hotel: it's really not so bad and the 4 hours does include a comfort break.

Ultimately the journey is very scenic it doesn't feel so long; the tour itself is so lovely and the hotel a delight, that it's well worth it. If the journey is all that's putting you off, then don't think about it, you'll be missing a treat if don't visit...! :)

Thank you for your comments. The transfer time is a stickler for me as really you are travelling 8 hours in all from airport/hotel and vice versa Perhaps we could have an extra tour day to allow for this? Apologies I am probably getting too hung up on the travel time. The hotel looks great. I may consider it for the future. Perhaps my fellow travellers will review the trips when they go in July and August and put my mind at rest!

According to the brochure the transfer time from the airport to the Hotel is approximately one hour.
