I’m going to Borneo in November and just wondered if anyone had done the optional sunset cruise and if so is it worth the price. Over £100 sounds excessive for an evening cruise but I don’t want to miss out I’d its worth it

When I did this trip in May 2016 we did not have any optional excursions as far as I remember, If this cruise is on the river then it is worth doing.

However the sunset cruise now available as a separate, paid for excursion, appears to be something else - don't know if this is new this year? From the description it appears to go from Kota Kinabalu into the South China Sea - a totally different experience according to the description on the website.

I've been to Borneo on 10th June and no defo not! We all said it was not worth the £115 each plus drinks! Don't get me wrong it's a lovely little cruise with a buffet but it's only 2 hours ::( wouldn't book again or recommend it. It's obviously changed since Bobs been in 2016, as it's days before you head to the jungle. Yes you'll get the afternoon/evening boat trips that are included to see the firerflys and bats, please don't get them mixed up. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful time

Hi we did a sunset cruise when I went in 2016 (it was included).  We saw a quite dramatic sunset, fireflies, flying squirrels, bats and heard all the sounds of the jungle.  Definitely worth doing!

Hi - I did this holiday in 2016 - hello to Jaya, Bob and fellow travellers! Wonderful holiday, such experiences. Yes we did the river cruise in the small boats at night from the lodge, which was and still seems to be included - great experience.
