Hello, I've just booked the Heart of Alpine Europe tour in October and would love to hear from anyone who is also going on this trip  🙂  Tips & comments from anybody who has been on this tour previously are also welcome!

You'll love it, went on this is May. Very full on holiday, but enjoyed every minute as I'm sure you will!

Thanks for the tip!  Looking at the itinerary, I'm expecting a busy week.

Do you remember how long the travel time is between each destination?  On my last holiday, the drive to each excursion took 1.5 - 2hrs.

It was about an hour and a half Zurich Airport to Feldkirch, had a stop at some services on the motorway though so you could get a coffee, go loo etc. Some of the excursions journey times were getting on for a couple of hours, especially when we went to Germany and on the way back from St Moritz, but there were stops, some scheduled for visits, others more spontaneous! Hopefully you'll get the same tour manager as us, his name was Phillip (can't remember surname) and he was first class, nothing too much trouble!

Hello Wesspan,

I agree with Andy, a great trip with many different forms of transport included. Slight change to Rorschach where after the cruise we went on the cog railway and post bus up to Heiden where there is a statue for Henri Dunant, founder of the Red Cross. You go instead to Bregenz for the amazing stage which we saw on our return from Lindau. Ravensburg was our first stop on our way to Lindau. Famous for the wonderful jigsaws, this was a great place to stop. Voting for the various political parties had lots of stalls. Came away with lots of goodies, fruit and cakes 🙂  Our one disappointment was the brewery. I wanted a glass tankard to bring back. They were waiting on supplies. The other coach tours were fed first, we had to wait. They washed a glass for me to bring back.

Be prepared to put on pounds in weight. The cakes and struedel were delicious as was the hot chocolate. Loved Appenzell x
