Dear Moderator,

Would it be possible to swop my original post “Footwear for Borneo “ from the review section to the “Say Hello” section along with my reply. I’m not sure how I made the mistake but it would be great if you could fix it for me.

Very many thanks,

Kindest regards

Gillian

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your reply. We were on the same Costa Rica trip, it was a great tour wasn’t it.

I was remembering the river trip in the inflatable boat. It was an amazing day so absolutely no complaints. However, we sat with our feet in a couple of inches of smelly, muddy water for a few hours. My sandals were never the same again despite my best efforts to resuscitate them, it wouldn’t have mattered but I had to ware them the next day. It sounds like your shoes didn’t make it either.  All the other boat trips were in small “normal” boats and we certainly didn’t get wet.  It wasn’t the end of the world but if I had known I would have taken different footwear. It just occurred to me after reading about someone getting wet on a boat trip in Borneo it might be similar or perhaps just rain. It would be good to be better prepared this time. :shy:

Despite my sandals retiring early I would highly recommend both Costa Rica and the inflatable boat trip to all.

I’m really excited about the Borneo trip, it’s not too far away now. It was great to hear from you. Keep travelling!

Kind regards

Gillian

Hi Gillian

Lovely to hear from you, Costa Rica was truly wonderful, it had everything and a wonderful guide in Ronald and coach driver George, CR was so colourful with so much wildlife I loved it, the inflatable boat trip down the Penas Blancas river was truly amazing which I recommend to anyone, I recall scrambling down them sandbags after our visit to that farmhouse and going flat on my bum much to the delight of those lucky enough to witness it, ha ha,  I also enjoyed Nicaragua which was so much different and then Jaco's at the end,  my shoes after were a right off after my jacos wave experience but I managed to dry them off enough to get me home,  they sadly passed away on my return,  this year I am doing Burma in November after I did Chile in November last

all the best  Dave

Hello Valerie, it’s good to hear from you. It’s not long now,  I’m looking forward to seeing lots of wildlife and getting away from all this rain to some sunshine.

See you in June.
