Hello

I'm very much looking forward to my first JY holiday next February to Burma and feel reassured having 'met' some of my travelling companions on this forum.

I'd quite like to have a week somewhere and often look at the Escape holidays.  But I'm not sure how 'alone' it'll feel.  From other travellers experience of a non-touring holiday, did you meet others to chat to and have dinner with etc?  There seems to be a welcome meeting and then it's over to your own devices, and when going with other companies in years gone by, after the welcome meeting, you never saw any of those people again!  I just wanted to get a feel for what other people had experienced in general.

Thanks everyone,

Judy

I've  not done an escape holiday,  but have been on a couple of JY  holidays based in one hotel with  a mix of included and optional excursions and some free time. In both cases, evening  meals  were  included, and it was good to join up with the group and discuss  how our day had been.  Our tour manager  was always able to offer advice on things to do locally.  I don't  know if you  have a  particular holiday in mind,  but would suggest having a look a reviews of previous  holidays on this site, and doing some research on your destination before deciding where  to go. Happy travelling.

Hi Judy,  can't say what your group of escapees will be like but in my experience of Just You holidays, including escaping, everyone very friendly and kind.  Just join each other around the pool,  chat at breakfast reveals who is going to be doing what and it just seems natural to do whatever together.  Mini golf tournaments, group walks,  shopping excursions.  Usually by day two I can't believe the short amount of time I have known my new friends.  Jump in and enjoy!!

Hi Judy

You will always find someone to talk to on any Just You holidays, even where dinner is not included. Most people go on the included excursions and the optional ones too. You are never on your own when travelling with Just You. All I would say is if you really fancy the holiday, just go ahead and book it.

Regards

Jaya
