Just wondered if anyone had been on this particular holiday (possibly in 2014), and if they had any recommendations regarding places to visit and the various excursions. I am thinking about going there in mid-late September. Thanks

Hi Dee,

I went on this holiday a couple of years ago although it was with a different hotel and had an amazing time.

The trips haven't changed apart from the truffle tasting but all are worth a visit. Plitvice National Park was my highlight- it is exactly how it looks. Rabac, Split and Opatija are all well worth a visit. There is sometimes a lot of travel, but all well worth it! In addition, if you get the same tour manager, the popular Vlatka, you will have a great time.

Ill try and find my review for you!

Thanks

Hi DeeAnne.

I went on the trip 3 years ago, which as Mark has mentioned was based in Rabac, although they changed the hotel the year after he went I think.

I loved it so much that I am going back on the 16th September departure this year. Lovran is a new location for me but the hotel looks great and it is not far (either on the local bus or by walking on the Lungomare) from Opatija.

I have been on all the excursions apart from the Motovun one which is a new one for this year.

Plitvice is wonderful, but lots and lots of walking and steps. Amazing views and the waterfalls are so beautiful.

The caves and stud farm are also worth the trip. I might go back on this one because it is many years since I have been to either of them.

I intend to make my own way at some time during the week to Opatija, as I think I can find my way around okay. 🙂 Nice town, some beautiful buildings and a beautiful park.

The boat trip is big fun.

To be honest I am just looking forward to going back. Good food, nice people and still relatively inexpensive.

If you need any more advice before you book, if you do. Please feel free to ask.
