Hi Jax49 and Valley, also just booked on Costa de la luz for 23 June from Liverpool. This is my second JY holiday, I went to Lake Garda/Venice last year and had a super time.

Not yet Julia, anyone know what the weather is like out there? Will there be a JY rep at Liverpool airport to meet travelers (as I seem to be the only one at present) and at Faro to? do hope so?

Hi Booked Costa de la Luz 23 June (first timer) can anyone recommend hotel near term 2

Hi! You didn't say which airport the terminal is at. :-)

I'm guessing it's probably not Gatwick as that has North and South Terminals rather than 1 and 2, but if it was I stayed at the Premier Inn North Terminal. It was a lovely hotel and restaurant, pretty much directly opposite the North Terminal and an easy walk from the train station. The only downside was that the mobile phone data signal in the room (which faced inward towards the central courtyard) was negligible.

If I'm flying from Manchester I usually stay at Bewleys, which is a Premier Inn style hotel a very short distance from the train station. Unfortunately it's not walkable as there are busy roads in-between, but the hotel operates a free courtesy bus (is that tautological?). Book onto the bus at Reception.

Hope this helps, and you have a lovely time at Costa de la Luz! I was there a couple of years ago and enjoyed it so much I'm thinking of going back this Autumn. Make sure you go for a walk along the beach: it has beautiful stones, shells and tiny little starfish.

Another useful hint: If you walk out of the front of the hotel and turn to the right (walking in the direction of Punta Umbria town) you'll get to a supermarket: about 10 minutes or so I think. Useful if you want to buy any bottled water, munchies, etc. (Mind, the food at the hotel is lovely so I doubt you'll need any nibbles!)

Mike this is very useful info, thanks, I am going to this hotel in Costa de la Luz in September, first time, really looking forward to it so any info you can give me would be great. One thing I would like to know though is that do they charge for pool towels?
