Hello from a very nervous hesitant should I /should I not do it !

I am on the verge of booking for The Spirit of India in October. Has anyone out there been on this holiday or thinking of going ?

I did this tour last year. It was one of the best tours I have ever done.

It was full on , very early starts and totally exhausting !

But I would have been happy to turn around and do it all again.

Go for it , you can always rest when you get home !

Hi Mary. I went on this trip last year - my 4th JY adventure - and I would highly recommend it. It is busy with early starts and various internal trains and flights but what an experience !! I say go for it !!!

I'm off on my 5th JY adventure to Japan and Hong Kong later this year so once you get the travel bug, you can't stop .. Pete

Thank you for your words of reassurance. I am beginning to feel more excited about going than worried so hope it will be the first of many.

Hi Pete

Have made up my mind to go for it. 4 JY past adventures and 2 to go certainly proves you are hooked. Japan and Hong Kong sound wonderful but all the JY holidays sound amazing. Now that I have made the decision I am already thinking about the next one. What time of year did you go to India ? I plan to go in October

Mary, I went in March 2014 and the weather was just about right. I went swimming in a couple of hotel outdoor pools (Jaipur and Varanasi) and overall the holiday and weather were excellent.

Along with about 7 other travellers in the group, I got the dreaded 'Dehli belly' despite sticking to advice I had read earlier before travelling - no salads, only fruit that can be peeled and certainly no street food. However it lasted less than 24 hours and the Tour Manager made sure we all had a visit from a local doctor who prescribed pills and advice on drinking loads of water and eating just bananas for the day/night. Fortunately the day we were poorly was a day with no travelling and allocated as an R&R day after our early starts and busy previous few days so we missed none of the sights and excursions and all were back to fighting fit after 24 hours or so.

Part of the Indian experience I guess .. have fun wherever your travelling takes you.

Pete ..............
