I'm trying to decide where to go for Christmas. My top 3 at the moment are Iceland, Marrakech and Sicily.

Anyone been or have any other suggestions?

I went to Oxford last year, which was fine, but the majority of people were twice my age and not very mobile.

I have booked to go to Saltzburg...thought a touch of snow and a visit to the mountains would make a nice change from the wet Christmas we get in the UK....

Two Christmas holidays I can strongly recommend are Salzberg and Lake Bled. This year I have booked New Year in Iceland. Not much to choose between two available dates, but fireworks at midnight appealed!

Regarding 'mobility', I am now well into my 70s but can still out-walk most people. It is not about age but fitness. This is probably why JY are now (thankfully) giving clearer guidance on amount and difficulty of any walking involved.

Will be interested to know what it's like Steve. Do you stay at the same hotel (Hotel Excelsior Palace in Taormina)? I doubt pools would be useable at Christmas time.
