Hi, I'm new to JY and the holidays look amazing, in particular the one to New England. I've never been on a singles holiday before and was wondering what type of age ranges there tends to be ?

Jenny I think I might of answered this in another thread..

If there is a tour you have in mind then book it, it's the tour that should be why your going, meeting new friends is the bonus and the laughs along the way, I have been in a New England tour in 2006 with JY my first tour and I have my 10th tour booked Canada New England with NYC add on. So if I can help with anything else just ask.

There is no age limit for travelling with Just You. Everyone is welcomed with open arms. As Cindy says, if there is a tour you have in mind then just go ahead and book it. Why waste time in wondering or thinking too much - life is too short!

Hi Jenny

The (very) short answer to the question of your post is: Yes. This goes for anyone at all if it is a holiday you really want to do. After all, that is why all the others doing the same holiday. JY are safe, organised, knowledgeable and not a dating site, If it is a tour you want to do then book it and enjoy it.

I started doing these trips when I was 31 and at 42 have notched up 20 holidays. The age question crops up a lot and I think it really depends on your attitude to age. Although on a few trips I have been the youngest - it hasn't affected the trip at all, in fact I think the older a person is, the more relaxed and happy they are in themselves and less worried about what other people think of them. They are more likely to sit back, relax and enjoy the trip. Of course this is a sweeping generalisation and there are always exceptions.

I have noticed that JY is attracting a younger clientele and regularly have a wide range of ages but the majority still tend to be in their 50's. As long as that doesn't bother you, I would say go for it. The touring holidays in the main attract a slightly younger age range as they are very active with lots of early starts, so the New England trip is a good one to start with.

One last thing - think of it less as a 'singles' holiday - you will find many married people (Nixon is one example) who love to travel but their partners don't. What you get is a group of like minded travellers who start out as strangers but from day 2 become a close group sharing fun and great experiences.

I think you should take the plunge and book the holiday - you are guaranteed not to regret it and will be looking to book your next one as soon as you return!

Hi Jenny1981,

I am 27 and i have been using JY since i was 23! My first trip was to Paris and have since been to Paris at New Year, Croatia Istria Coast, Italy Cilento Coast, and am going to Lake Garda in July. As long as you are looking forward to the holiday, age is not a problem. I have always got along with people at the same age and those older. There is always a range on these holidays and you'll probably be one of the youngest but you'll have a smashing time, i promise!

Hi Jenny

I'm in my 30's and have done a few trips now. I've always been the youngest but that hasn't stopped me having a good time and mixing with the others. I don't gave anyone else to travel with so I like this way, you can do as much or little with the group as you want.

The New England trip I did last year (but with travelsphere -as I travelled with my parents on this occasion). The tour is full on so you won't have much time to fill in shall I say! I always pick tours with a lot in the itinerary so that I don't have lots of time to myself and I like to see and do what there is where I'm going.

Any questions, ask away. So far I have done 5 trips, started small with Luxembourg, and then moved onto long haul- Costa Rica, China, Iceland at new year and recently cone back from Sri Lanka. My next problem is picking the next tour!
