I am a divorced lady of 59 and fed up with waiting for family or friends to be available to go on holiday with me!

I wish I had the courage to go off and have adventures on my own, my sister would.....but me, well, I'm a bit of a scaredy cat!!! haha!

I have been lucky to have had lots of holidays abroad in the past, but hey ho, why sit at home now!!!!

So here I am, starting out as a novice for this sort of holiday and although I am nervous, it could be great fun!!!

Like you, I was always a bit hesitant about striking out on my own. However, five years ago I took early retirement and found myself with the time and financial wherewithal to travel to places on my wish list. Found Just You and decided to go for it. Have now been to China, India, west coast of America and Canada and New England. My advice is just go for it. I have had great experiences and met some interesting people on these holidays. Have booked trip to Apulia this year as did not want to do a long haul trip.

I am 55 and have been using JY since 2006. I have my 10th tour booked for this year...very safe way to travel, more ladies than men normally in the group, everyone mixes in well. young and old and all in between. if there is a tour you like the look of then book it and give It a go...I think it will be good fun for you..

You are doing the right thing. My family go during the school holidays and the places they go to are too hot for me at that time of year. Like you, I am too scared to go abroad on my own. When you travel with JY you can choose where you want to go, have time on your own if you wish and you feel safe. My problem is that there is so much choice I can't decide! Last year was my first holiday with JY and it was a great experience. Now I just have to decide where I want to go in September before they all get booked up. Decisions, decisions!

Or, you can do what I am doing.....as another Newbie....and wanting to "try it out" first. I am going with Just You on a weekend break to London this weekend. Just two nights away! Even if it is an awful experience (and I am hoping that it won't be) it is just for two nights. If it is a positive experience, then I shall try something a bit more ambitious next!

The thing is that you HAVE to make an effort, to take that first step...
