My husband won't fly and I have wanted to visit New York for years and saw the ad for just you. I am quite happy to be on my own, but wanted to be safe, have everything booked for me etc.

I am wary that this could be a singles type, find a match holiday and that is not at all what I am after.

I hope that doesn't offend anyone, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with those type of holidays, just not what I want.

Hi Juliamc All l can say is go for it:) l have done 5 JY Holidays another one in May. It is for anyone who loves to travel have fun it is not a dating single holiday. We are all different ages l have met some really lovely & interesting people. No need to worry yeah get out there & do it 🙂 . Tessa

I can safely say this is NOT a dating site so you'll be fine and i'm sure this is pointed out somewhere on the site and anyone who looks for it I am sure will be in trouble, yes some people do become friends and may exchange details but these holidays are mainly for enjoying travel seeing the world and meeting people, you will be well looked after from start to finish by your tour manager and if New York city is somewhere you want to see then Go for it you will NOT be disappointed, I went to Australia in November with JY and loved every minute and the company and this year am taking in Peru with Travelsphere so singles or couples make little difference when your seeing the world

Firstly can I just say I am now 55 and I have been travelling with JY since September 2006 like you I am MARRIED, but my husband would hate a tour type holiday so that is why I travel as a solo traveller? I can assure you this is NOT a dating type tour company. I feel very safe and yes there are Men in the mix but they just want a good holiday the men I have encountered have always been respectful and gentlemen if you know what I mean.

now onto your choice New York great choice...if you go into the share your travel tips page in here I have shared my thoughts on NYC...my first of 10 tours was to Boston New England and New York, I am revisiting this again this year but it's now Canada New England and New York Add on, as there are a few things I want to explore which are not in the JY agenda, so the add in will give me the time.

Lots of married people use JY when their partner can't / won't travel. It is most assuredly not a matchmaking company and is exactly what you are looking for in that everything is organised for you and you can chose whether you want company or prefer to be on your own. Have a look through some previous posts about New York using the search function and hopefully you'll find it suits your plans.
