Hi can anyone who has been on this trip comment on how much cash you suggest we take? i guess i only need money for lunch, drinks and snacks? I was considering taking some money on a cashcard or using my debit card, rather than all in cash, but wondered if there were many ATM's? (apart from Venice and Verona)

also i get bitten by everything and anything.....do i need insect repellent for this area?

Hello Karen,

I was here in June 2 years ago. I took 400 euros for the week as we had breakfast and dinner. I had paid for my extra trips before I went so it was easier. The most I paid for was the gondola ride at 25 euros, gelato and souvenirs. I still came home with some money. I believe they have changed the hotel since and the nearest town had ATMs.

I usually attract the mossies but did not get bitten. I always take anti histamine creams and Piriton tablets. I had awful sandfly bites to my legs when I was in the Sinai-horrendous weeping down my legs for the next week- learnt from that :(
