Hi, I've recently found myself single again and at 36, and with an alarming lack of hobbies, I'm looking to go away so that I can meet people and hopefully forge some lasting friendships well past the flight home.

As being single usually comes with the typical financial pressures of maintaining a home alone etc etc, I'm not loaded but could hopefully save for a couple of trips a year.

All the websites I've looked at so far give disclaimers like "we cannot guarantee you will have other single travellers at the time you book". Well, I can't imagine anything worse than paying for a holiday and finding myself stuck in a room on my own. I'm a people person and don't enjoy my own company very much so a holiday of 'seclusion and relaxation' is not for me!

To be honest, I'm not really sure what the first step is? I'd like to go snowboarding in January as I've already booked 20-24 off work. I'd need to be sure that the price I was paying included everything (barring food and drink) as I'd need to budget.

If it goes well then I'd like to do an activity type holiday in the summer.

Any helpful tips to get me on my way would be appreciated 🙂

Morning TillieBee,

You've certainly made the right first step in contacting Just You.

I've been on 9 trips so far, in the US and Europe, and had a really great time on all of them, made some really good friends I still keep in touch with.

Most of the tours are on a half board basis, some trips included, and single rooms guaranteed. You will be able to join in with the group on tour, only having some "me" time if, and when, you need it!!

Just check your brochure, make your choice and book. I can almost guarantee you'll have a wonderful holiday and will devour the JY brochure on your return to book your next trip.

Good luck and go for it.

Denise.

Welcome Tillie Bee

Like Denise I to have been lucky and been on 9 tours with JY since 2006... Very safe way too travel and its your holiday so join in as much as you want to....I tend to go for the more tourist style holidays as I like my days to be filled with interesting things to see and do.

I think JY let's you book a tour and pay of money when you can as long as its all paid by the time the final, invoice is due. If that would help with your budgeting.

There is a new brochure due out in approx 5 weeks I think, so perhaps request one off these when they are around, or have a look at what is on offer online..if I can help with anything just ask...
