Hello

Is anyone going on Moscow and St.Petersburg holiday in September? I'm told there are 30 people booked so it is going ahead.

I live in Cardiff and will be travelling to Heathrow the night before - haven't decided whether to drive or coach yet! I've never been to Russia before and am expecting much walking so have bought a pair of comfortable shoes!

Hi Angela,

I just got the last place on the Moscow trip on 6 September - is that the one you are going on?? As I live in Dublin, I will come over the night before and stay at Jury's Inn at Heathrow as I found that very comfy on previous occasions. I went to Peru with Just You two years ago and found it brilliant, and was due to go to Australia last March but had to cancel due to a fractured shoulder - long sad story.....!!

Will need to find out what temperature is likely to be and what clothing to bring - in Peru everyone was very casual so I expect this trip will be the same.

Cheers

Marie

Hi Angela

I went on teh moscow and St petersburg trip in May and loved it. It was very hot in May ( hotter in Moscow than St Petersburg ), around 22 - 28 degrees and comfy shoes are a must !!!

We were all casual although we tended to dress up a bit more at night and if you fancy a trip to ballet or concert in St P you might wnat to take a "posh frock" ! Metro in St Peterbrg was so easy to get around that doing your own thing was very easy

I live in newcastle so also went down overnight by plane and i was able to get my luggae transfers back to newcastl on my retirn flight from St P , so i did'nt have the hassle at heathrow.

We had 35 on our trip ( 6 men) which was a bit on large side but it worked well

I went on this trip a couple of years ago, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

My only concern is the cost, Russia is very expensive in terms of hotels, which is a major part of the holiday cost, also you'll find food and drinks pricy, although in overall terms I doubt that this will add up to much extra expenditure because it's only a short break.

Additionally a visa costs around £150, which (in terms of cost/day), makes it probably the most expensive European holidays offered by JY.
