Hello Theresa

I am 54 and due to go my 9th JY tour in May, you will be fine honest....it actually works very well, there are many postings on here about it all, but just a few things for you.

Pick a holiday that you really fancy going on, that might be near or far, my first one was USA.

People do mix in really well, and you can have such a laugh amongst the tour.

I have never eaten on my one, depending on what sort of tour you pick there is always someone you can sit with.

Ladies out number the men.

I think the age range is coming down a little bit from when I started in 2006.

Main age 55-70 but with younger and older either side.

Age is a number some are young 70 year old and I have met 30 year olds who are old!!!

I might be 54 but I have been out walked by 70 year olds...

This is a very safe way to travel you are head counted so will not get lost.

I have travelled from Austria to New Zealand, so if there is anything I can help you with just ask.

Happy travelling

Cindy

Hi Theresa Anne,

Going on a Just You holiday at the young age of 55 will not be a bit daunting for you! The average age group is around 55/ 65 but ages range from the 30's to the 80's, so 55 is still young. I am 63 this year. Just You is a fantastic company who look after single travellers from day one. I say "single travellers" as pepole have perceptions that JY are a type of dateing agency for singles. My partner and I have been on just you holidays on our own because of our comitments are different and unable to go tother. You will find others have similar arrangements and do the same.

Just You do holiday weekends in the UK so you have an idea how easy it is to holiday with others. OR you could do a short break inclusive holiday in Europe or if more adventurous a long haul holiday. Either way you will be looked after well by JY and everything arranged for you. You will also be welcomed by your other solo travellers and can mix with them or actually do your own thing.

Many people are apprensive about travelling on there own, but with JY this is made much easier from day 1.

Hope you do have a go with JY and have a fantastic holiday.

Regards

Eric.

Hello and welcome Theresa. Travelling with Just You is great. You do not have to worry about anything. Everyone going on Just You holidays is in the same boat. When I first decided to holiday on my own, I booked Jordan as always wanted to see Petra and since then have not looked back. I have done 4 Just You holidays and each one has been wonderful. Of course, everyone is nervous when they book the first time, but your fears will soon disappear as soon as you check in at the airport and meet fellow travellers. I would say, just pick a destination you always wanted to visit, and go for it. At 55 you are a bit younger than me - I will be 57 in July. You will meet people of all ages. Age is never a problem with Just You no matter how old or young you are - after all age is just a number! Hope you will soon let everyone know that you have booked your first Just You holiday.

Theresa, go for it, the first one is always daunting.

The tours i have been on are very well structured so you have a plan each day, whether it be trips or free time etc, the tour reps are very helpful and make everyone feel relaxed.

the tours are not dating... often a misconception, simply people from all walks of life for whatever reason travel alone. (my first one was after my divorce) and since then i have been all over the world 🙂

the only "bad" thing i find... i need more money so i can book more lol

but seriously, you can dip your toe in water, doing short weekend break or take the plunge and jump in,

everyone is there for same reason - to travel and enjoy their holiday

i have remained friends with a number of people i met on these holidays

best of luck and i hope you find one that truly inspires you
