Hi.  My name is Sharon and it's my first time travelling on a JustYou holiday.  I'm booked on the Inspirational China & Yangtze Cruise Nov 2025 tour.  I must admit, I'm a bit apprehensive but at the same time really excited and looking forward to a great adventure.  I have no idea how big the group will be.  Is there anyone on the forum travelling from Gatwick?

Hi Sharon

Yes I am travelling from Gatwick and getting excited!  I have already been on 5 Just You tours but the last one was in 2022.  Everyone gets a bit apprehensive about meeting up with strangers but after a day we will all find our feet and make friends.   I am driving down to Gatwick on Sunday and I have booked myself into a hotel near the airport.  Put your Just You tags on your bags so we can try to spot each other and I will look out for you and everyone else near to the check-in desk on Monday morning.  I must admit I am struggling with packing choices - the weather looks to be so variable over the 14 days between Shanghai and Bejing - I expect I will either be too hot or too cold!  Hope to see you at the desk on Monday 24th.

Hi Janet.  Lovely to hear from you.  I live in Oxfordshire and will be driving to Gatwick 'very early' Monday morning  (I've managed to book Gatwick's long stay car park).  Think I'm all set to go, just need to pick up some hand sanitizer and wipes which have been recommended.  I'll look out for the tags at check in, thanks for the tip. Do you know if it will be a large group?

Sharon 😊

Hi Mandy.  So good to hear you had a great time.  I'm packing warm clothes as the weather is looking cold.  I'm just wondering if I should pack my walking boots, or just my normal winter boots.  Is there a lot of walking on the trip?  Also, is there anything that you didn't know beforehand that could have helped make the trip even better 😊.  Sharon

Hi Sharon

In some places there is a lot of walking like when you go and see Panda Bears, and in Beijing when you go and see

Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, The Wall all were fantastic you don"t realise how much you are walking

as so much to see.

Train Stations security is just like Airports Baggage scanning, Body Scanners Passports needed, limits on liquids are alowed

like on a plane no bigger than 100ml alowed like for deodorants, mousses, perfumes, foams because your cases travel on the train with you no lighters or scissors water is alowed. if you have medicines be perparted to say what they are used for. Our group did not know until the day before and one or two of the group had there stuff taken away from them.

And passports need to be carried everywhere in China you need them to get in all tourists places.

You will have a great time the food is lovely, chines people are lovely and lots to see

Hi Mandy

Thank you so much for the information, very informative.  I'll definitely take it onboard.

Do you have any other holidays booked with JustYou?  You never know, we may cross paths in the future.  I'm also travelling with them to Kerala India in February.

Thanks

Sharon
