Can any one advise is good flip flops would be suitable foot wear?
Not sure how much walking we have to do when visiting temples etc( obviously when on safari I need trainers )
I did purchase a pair of "walking sandals" which I tested out of a 4 day trip round Rome, but they made my feet SO hot they ached. (

Hi Alex,
I wore "trekking sandals" which are open but supportive (Merrell) or the protective toe ones (Keen). I too have to decide which I'm taking for Burma and Borneo!
Hope this helps!
Have a fantastic time - it is my all time favourite JY trip!
Cheers,
Hils
HI Hils,
Its was Keen open sandals that I bought, and closed toe ones (untested) and tried the open Sandal out on my trip to Rome in Sept, which made the soles of my feet SO hot,
I got a blister on my sole, so put one of those silver blister plasters on the next day- Which disintegrated from the heat of my foot? (blister did not hurt mind you), I thought to myself "oooh heck these wont do for India, that's £70 I cant get back"
Other than taking shoes off whilst on the coach, I thought I'd check with you seasoned travels if sturdy flip flops would work, my rational of thinking was in the temples you have to take your shoes off anyway.
When I'm on Tiger Safari I need to be able to run, I will have the fastest running shoes on. 🙂 Just in case- I need to chase a shy tiger for a cuddle (joking)
Its only 27 Sleep 4 hour & 28Mins to go...... but who's counting.
