Good Afternoon Vickie

I'm on the Ecuador & Galapagos holiday departing on 11 March 2019.

I received a letter from JY on 26 November 2018 and an email on 21 January 2019 advising me of the two optional excursions I could book up to 5 days before departure or through TM or Local Guide on arrival.

I pre-booked one excursion on Monday.  However, on receiving the final holiday information yesterday, it states that the Los Tuneles excursion must be booked 40 days before departure and also 5 days before departure!  Which is it?

If excursions need to be booked 40 days before departure, travellers should be told that very early on and not after the 40 days have gone.  At least one of my fellow travellers has been disadvantaged because of this error.  Please ensure that the follow-up trips to Ecuador and Galapagos are informed of this requirement if it is 40 days.

Regards

Sylvia

Hi Sylvia,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Our standard booking time for excursions is 5 days before departure, unless stated in your information. On the information sent out in November for this tour the letter should say:

Please note: This excursion must be booked 40 days before departure

I apologise for any confusion caused by this and I have fed back to the team to see if this can be changed. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Many thanks,

Vickie

Hello Vickie

The information hasn’t said 40 days for Galapagos tours until last month

Hi Garside,

I've checked with the team and the reason for this is that we were only asked by the local agents to change the booking time from 5 to 40 days very recently, which is why it hasn't been on previous documents.

You are confirmed on both excursions.

Apologies for the confusion around this, and hopefully that's clearer now.

Many thanks,

Vickie

Hi Vickie

I am going on the 6th May departure for Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands . I have not received any information about booking excursions 40 days in advance. My documents state 5 days before departure. Does this apply to both excursions? As I do not swim/snorkel only the Tinotoreras one which includes a hike seems possible.

Also can you tell me the tour manager's name and if he/she will be flying with us from Heathrow and the M/F split.

Hi Peter,

Apologies for the delay. I have had a look at the documents sent to you, and it states:

Please note: This excursion must be booked 40 days before departure.

Your Tour Manager hasn't been allocated yet, so please check back with me. There are 15 people booked on this trip so far, 4 men and 11 women. Their ages range from mid 40s to early 70s.

Many thanks,

Vickie

HI

I'm booked on this trip March 2020 - I have just noticed a comment on the Website.................

Please note that the itinerary for 2020 will differ slightly from that shown here. We have included the tintoreras optional excursion into the tour and will also be including a practice snorkel, prior to your visit, later in the tour, to Kicker Rock

Do I read this correctly that the Tintoreras optional excursion will no longer be an Optional Excursion in 2020 but instead part of the main tour?? If this is the case, what does that mean for those of us who have already booked for 2020 and paid for this as an extra - will we get any sort of refund?

Thanks in advance

Paula

Hi Paula,

Yes this is correct and we are in the process of writing to existing customers who have booked this as an optional for 2020 to advise them this is now included, and they will be refunded 🙂

Many thanks,

Vickie

Hi

I am not sure if it is just me getting easily confused (there is a fair chance).............

Received a mail yesterday as it is only 15 weeks till this trip (getting just a little excited) which included information about the optional excursions....... and it gives info about 'Tintoreras snorkeling and hike tour' I thought this was the excursion that was now included for 2020 ?? Has this changed? Confused as to why it is there with cost etc

Also there is no info in the document regarding the other excursion - 'Los Tuneles snorkeling experience' I am assuming this is because I have already booked?!

Just wanted to confirm. Count down has really begun now

Thanks

Paula

Hi Paula,

Apologies for this, yes the Tintoreras snorkelling and hike tour is now included for 2020. We will get this amended and new paperwork sent out for you and other customers on the tour.

With regards to your booked excursion, they will not show on paperwork as you have already booked.

Many thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Thanks,

Vickie
