Hi there

My holiday details say that on the train journey between Moscow and St Petersburg luggage must be carried in the overhead luggage rack. Does this mean I can only take a very small case such as carry on size? Advice would be helpful so that I can plan how much (or how little) I can take on holiday. Thank you

Hello Linda

This is correct. We ask that you take one case of luggage weighing up to 23kg and with measurements no greater than 56 x 45 x 25 cm. You must be able to physically lift the bag into the overhead locker on the train, although I expect someone will help you do this if you are struggling.

Kind regards,

Hi Olly,

I too am going on this trip. Are you saying that we are ONLY allowed ONE piece of luggage and no handluggage? I will be bringing camera equipment and will not be putting it in my main case, therefore need a carry on bag.

Regards,

Hils

Hi Olly,

Thank you for that info. Perhaps Just You might consider putting that fact in the brochure so people are aware before they book of the restrictions imposed. I actually asked about this when I booked and was told the trains were the same as british ones with luggage storage at either end of the carriage so the size of the case wasn't an issue.

Hi Hils

Don't worry, hand luggage is always fine. I was only referring to your check-in luggage.

Kind regards

Hi Linda

I've heard since I replied to you that there are luggage areas at the end of each carriage too but, like on British trains now, this space is often quite limited. I will pass on your suggestion.
