I've got an existing ESTA for entry to the United States, this expires in May 2014 (on the expiry date of my old passport).

I've renewed my passport and thus have a completely different passport number, and a passport that runs from now to May 2024.

Does anyone know please, if I have to reapply for the ESTA, or is the old one still valid even though I will have a new passport with me when I next go to the US, with a different passport number from that on my ESTA.

Thanks.

Hi Stuart,

Please see the comment below - this has been taken from the ESTA website:

"If you obtain a new passport or there is a change to your passport information, you must apply for a new travel authorization and pay the associated fees."

https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/WebHelp/ESTA_Screen-Level_Online_Help_1.htm

Kindest regards,

Julia
