I have never been on holiday alone before and just a little apprehensive about doing so. However, at the age of 61 and being a single lady, I can't think of any other way of going on holiday especially abroad. Does anyone think I am doing the right thing?::thumbup:
I am in the same position as yourself Tina, I am 63 and have just plucked up courage and booked a trip to Andalucia I think it is a case of try it and see.::shy:
I am 63 Tina and in the same position as yourself and have now taken the plunge and booked Andalucia for June, I think it is a case of trying it out.:shy:
I'm sure you are doing the right thing so try not to worry. I too have never been on holiday on my own before. I'm 50 and felt that Just You seemed a good company to start with. Their will be lots of other people who feel just the same as yourself. I'm sure you'll have a great time and being on this site is the first step. I've booked to go to Cuba in July as i thought it sounded exciting.
Of course you will be a little apprehensive we've all been there before our first JY holiday. At 61 you certainly wont be the oldest or the youngest so will fit in just great.
Whether you are doing the right thing in my opinion its yes, life is too short not to enjoy yourself.

Hi there Tina. I'm sure you are doing the right thing. I'm 65 and have booked my first Just You holiday travelling alone to Madeira in June. I am looking forward to meeting new people and hopefully making new friends. Enjoy.

Hi Tina,
I'm in the same boat so have decided to go on a discovery weekend to see if the type of people who go on these things are the type of people I want to spend a week abroad with!!
Go for it.
Sue
Welcome, of course you are doing the right thing you will have a great holiday and meet new people, so I hope you book a tour. I have done 6 tours and have 2 more booked you will be fine, people mix well very quickly and it is all very safe, and a rep is to hand so you can't get lost etc.

I'm in the same position as you, I'm 66 and have never been away on my own. My long term partner died last August, and I'm determined that I will go away this year after a very difficult two years. I'm thinking of going to the Weekend in Peterborough in June to see how I get on. I'd be interested to hear how you get on - good luck!
I hope you are doing the right thing 'cos I've just taken the plunge too! I'm 55 and never been on holiday alone before. I am mostly worried that on my holiday (Costa de la Luz, May 24th) I'll either be a) by far the oldest, b) by far the youngest c) the only girl. But the fact that we'll all be in the same boat is what appeals - the thought of going on my own on a 'traditional' holiday and going into the dining room where everyone else is part of a group fills me with dread, so being part of a likeminded bunch encouraged me to take the plunge. I'm sure we'll all have a great time!
Shirley.
Hi,
I took my first single holiday to Italy last year with Just You. It was fantastic. Brilliantly organised, and I met some really nice people. You can spend time with others or on your own there's no pressure. I've already booked my next trip and can't recommend highly enough.;);)
