Hi Sandra, I'm going to have my injections (typhoid, tetanus and yellow fever) this afternoon. There was no advice from my GP practice to have rabies.

I was also wondering what people are planning to do re malaria as there have been cases of dengue fever on Easter Island. The advice I've read suggests that vaccinations/course of tablets are not needed but that tablets for plug-ins and a repellent spray would be a good idea.

Layered clothing seems to be a must. My daughter did an AI serach using details of the itinerary and it came up with a very impressive list which I could share if it would be helpful.

That sounds like such an exciting trip, Anne! November is late spring in Chile, so the weather really depends on which regions you plan to visit. In Santiago and the central valleys, you’ll likely get mild to warm days, though evenings can still be cool, so a light jacket is useful. If you’re heading south toward Patagonia, you’ll definitely need layers, including waterproof gear, as the weather can change quickly. When I was planning a different trip , I came across some useful travel insights while looking into routes like this one—and I found that thinking in terms of layered packing helped me a lot. Are you planning to focus more on cities and vineyards, or will you be exploring the lakes and mountains too?

Hello. I'm on the Chile with Easter Island Nov 25 trip too. I haven't started looking into clothing yet but I think that it will be tricky with the vast area. I have been recommended to have a rabies injection from my GP. Has anyone else?

with regard to money, I will take some US dollars plus some local currency. I tend to put as much as possible on my travel credit card.

This is my first time with Just You and thinking what a good idea this forum is. I'm also going to Chile in November too and have added on the Easter Island trip. I was also wondering about climate and clothes and also how much local currency to take.
