Hi Gillywhich.I booked this as my first tour with Just You last September. Most importantly I had a wonderful time. The group, the guide and the tour was fantastic. It was my first time travelling solo and I was extremely nervous-no need to be! The only advice I would give is that which I put in my feedback-and they may have changed things so any concerns I should check. Like you I thought it would be a gentle introduction-its actually quite full on and you cram an awful lot of travelling into a week. There is also an awful lot of walking-more than I anticipated. We had a wide variety of ages and levels of physical fitness on our group but by midweek even some of the fittest members were starting to feel a bit stiff and sore! One of our group had a fitbit and in Venice alone we walked over 6 miles.Often the coach cant park near centre of city so you may have a 15minute walk to and from coach plus an hour or more tour-often on uneven pavements etc. A few group members had pre checked with company about amount of walking and were told it wasn't excessive and take sensible shoes.I suppose everyone is different- one persons hike is another persons gentle stroll! If I had been aware I would have been better prepared and taken sturdier shoes. I would do it again though and a bonus was despite lovely food I didn't put on a pound! The only other thing I would say is maybe its best viewed as a taster of Italy. There isn't enough time to do and see all you want to. The Uffizi in Florence has to be booked in advance so we missed out there. We couldn't get into the Vatican as there was a special event on and queues were to long. That said we saw and did so much it was worth it.

Thanks for that, appreciate the information as it gives me an idea of what to expect. I'm happy with the walking as I really wanted a fairly busy holiday, so it does sound as though I've made a good choice. Thank you for taking the time.

Good Afternoon JT27,

I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the amount of walking on this trip. I have forwarded your comments on to the Just You team.

I am however delighted to hear that you enjoyed the rest of your Just You holiday.

Kindest Regards,

Amy

Any suggestions as to a starter with Just You - so much choice but I want to dip my toe in the right holiday for my first time. Can you tell me me the average age group of travellers for the Italian Cities I think a shorter trip for starters might be a good idea. Thanks

Hi Gillywhich,

Like you, I am dipping my toe into the "JustYou" water for the first time.

I have signed up for the Alpine Excursion in July.

The age range does not worry me. I'm a 64-year-old divorced male, who enjoys the company of all ages. In general, the age ranges seems to have a 40/50 years span. That should make for an interesting mix. Younger folk aways make ME feel younger too.

I am sure we will both have brilliant holidays.

Enjoy.

Hi Gillywhich,

The average age group of travelers for 'Classic Cities of Italy' is early 40s - early 80s.

Kind Regards,

Amy
