Hi Paul

So far, five people have booked this trip - one man and four women - with an age range of early 40s to late 60s. We haven't appointed a tour manager yet but if you can write again in early April I should be able to let you know.

Kind regards

I take it it is the Safari holiday that you are going on is it?

If so you are not out and about that much to be honest, whilst on the safari part, on the game drives (I went in Oct) shorts or light troussers (Capri pants are they called) a vest top and then an overshirt and depending a light jacket or sweatshirt/cardy on the game drive you DO NOT GET OUT of the jeep so you are in the jeep the whole time so can get rather warm. Flesh is fine from where and what I did. If your out and about you would cover up out of respect, but not in a uncomfortable way by any means, I did buy a few long sleeve cotton/cheesecloth type of overshirts which came in very handy as cover ups. (Dont buy bright yellow as this attracts insects) When I went it was RATHER hot so the evenings I did wear long loose dresses and open shoes air con is a bit hit and miss in the general areas. I can assure you BIKINI is fine, but not topless that is a BIG NO.. I was gratefull for that !!!, I took two beach towels but these were not needed as you got clean beach towels every morning from pool side. I went to an aids children orphanage, near to the 2nd hotel really makes you think...if you go take plenty of cheap pens crayons colouring books they are very well received...

You will have a great time on this tour I did this trip in October 2010..If you are travelleing from LHR then you get two main pieces of luggage each being about 22 lbs so over 40 lbs in total so lots of stuff you can take!!!!! If you are flying internally and then going from LHR all your luggage (The two cases) need to be in one case with only one weight allowence..If that makes sence. So I took one hard case with main gear in that you leave at Mombabsa and a soft holdall with Safari gear for that part of the trip. Backpack is essential as in the jeeps there is not much room for all the bodies !! and loads of bags so just a backpack is fine for water, camera etc.. Can I suggest you take some moist wipes and a hand gel as you can get quite grubby out and about, so its nice to give your hands a good wipe down.. Mossy spray and wipes, anti histamine tabs, haidryer is a must as they are not provided. Anything else you need to know just ask

hi cindy thank you you have been a big help, i was wondering what sort of clothing u wear for the safari, and then back at the hotel as it states that it musilm country so they apparently dont like to see any flesh, is this rite and that concerns me as what do u do if its to hot lol, and is bikini ok for the beach, what to wear etc on the nights aswell. thank you paula x

Hello and congratulations on making your first booking

We usually have around 20 people on our Kenya trips, and meeting up with your fellow travellers at Heathrow is easy. Your tour manager or an airport rep will be there to help you check in and you will then make your way to the executive lounge to meet your group and relax before you fly. This is included in the cost of your holiday and is a lovely way to start the trip.

For Kenya, we ask you to take a regular suitcase plus a soft-sided bag for the safari element of the holiday. This means that you can leave the rest of your luggage in Mombasa and just take what you need for the safari. A small backpack is always useful too.

The climate in May will be warm or hot, probably in the mid 20s celsius. It will also be quiet wet so take a waterproof for any sudden showers.

I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time.

Kind regards
